Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Recruit Minthara

Thanks to patch 5, well-aligned Baldur’s Gate 3 Players can now Officially recruit Minthara as a companion, Allowing you to join the party on their quests. The evil drow paladin was previously only recruitable if players raided the Emerald Grove in Act One, effectively locking out well-aligned characters from experiencing her story.

Before Patch 5, well-aligned players had to rely on workarounds to recruit Minthara. Players quickly resorted to using mods or an extraordinary technical loophole with polymorph to transform you into a sheep. After a short time, Halsin and Mintara could be recruited together in the same game, but this has since been discontinued.

Minthara is not ideal for morally good playthroughs

Although Minthara’s recruitment method for a good run is technically flawed, as she is still clearly ideal for a morally corrupt game, with her character feeling more natural in this setting. Especially Because Khalsin and Mintara can no longer be recruited together, it is difficult to argue for Mintara in a good-natured game. Since Halsin is a better companion for this version despite not being one of the best overall.

As an evil character, Minthara differs from other party members in Baldur’s Gate 3. As the only drow companion in the game, she brings a unique perspective that no one else (except a drow taw or dark urge) has. She is also classified as a paladin, making her a valuable addition to your squad Baldur’s Gate 3 party if you don’t already have a paladin’s power on your side.
