Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Recruit Mintara

Thanks to patch 5, everything is fine Baldur’s Gate 3 players can now officially hire Mintara as a companion, allowing her to join the group on their quest. Previously, the evil drow paladin could only be recruited if players raided the Emerald Grove in Act 1, effectively preventing good-aligned characters from experiencing its story.

It was also briefly possible to recruit Halsin and Mintara together in the same playthrough, but this has since been fixed.

Mintara is not ideal for morally good playthroughs

While Mintara’s method is technically feasible, Mintara’s method of recruiting her for a good game doesn’t feel quite fully functional, as she is still clearly perfect for a morally corrupt playthrough and her character feels more natural in this setting. Especially Considering that Halsin and Mintara can no longer be recruited together, it’s hard to argue for Mintara in a good-natured playthrough as Halsin is the best companion for this version, although he is not one of the best overall.

As an evil character, Mintara differs from other party members in that Baldur’s Gate 3. As the only drow companion in the game, she brings a unique perspective that no one else (except the drow Tav or Dark Rush) has. She is also a Paladin, making her a valuable addition to your Baldur’s Gate 3 party if you don’t already have the power of a Paladin on your side.
