Screen Rant: What was it like joining the cast of Season 2, Fiona?

Fiona Shaw: Can you imagine? I just slowly backed into a corner and realized there was no escape. They were charming and I was scared to death of them. [Laughs] Actually, I wasn't because Sharon Horgan told me that she told them I could get on the show, and she said they were very pleased. I knew I was with some good friends, so it was good.

Anne-Marie Duff: We were so impressed with her involvement. And we were genuinely, very happy. Because you just want everyone to be brilliant in the room, don't you? And also that Sharon created another amazing female character. Angelica is delightful, isn't she? The public will devour it. She's so hot, you know? So, yes, we were all very emotional.

Grace is shining at the start of Bad Sisters season 2

“Sometime in the future, but we don’t know when the truth will be revealed and everything will change for her.”

Screen Rant: Can you talk a little about where we find Grace at the beginning of Season 2?

Anne-Marie Duff: When we last saw Grace, at the end of the first season, she was leaping into the unknown, wasn't she? But there was a lot of sadness and suffering throughout the first season of Bad Sisters. So when we see her shining at the beginning of Season 2, and feeling like she's on the precipice, she's about to start this beautiful new chapter of life where she's going to be happy. It's beautiful for the public, isn't it? But we also know that, and they know that, and that at some point in the future, but we don't know when the truth will be revealed, and everything will change for her, and how that will manifest itself. We don't know, but we're hoping for it. It's a funny kind of ticking time bomb, isn't it?

Fiona Shaw: She never gets clean water, Grace, does she? Because her first marriage was wrong, and then her second, she cannot have clean water because she has a secret. It's very interesting, and her friendship doesn't work because she also has a secret. And somehow this is very understandable.

Anne-Marie Duff: It's like he never leaves her. He is still controlling her from the grave.

Screen Rant: Can you tell us a little about Angélica?

Fiona Shaw: Angélica is a slightly religious, very strange person, who lives with her brother and some rabbits, and who doesn't have a very good life. She certainly doesn't have the glamorous life of those sisters, and she doesn't have the companionship of those sisters, and she doesn't have those sisters' perspective, so she's completely at odds with them. I think she's delusional to think she can be friends with them, but she thinks she can.

We meet her at the races, when Grace is already trying to walk away from the friendship, and, I think, already, poor Angelica is hurt because Grace doesn't seem to be as nice as she was, but that's how we set it up. So we start off on the wrong foot and that's a lot of fun to play.

Every episode of Bad Sisters season 2 is exciting

“There are so many twists and turns.”

The cast of Bad Sisters season 1

Screen Rant: What episode are you most excited for fans to see in Season 2?

Anne-Marie Duff: The boat episode is great.

Fiona Shaw: The boat episode is great. This is really fun.

Anne-Marie Duff: The second episode also had a big cliffhanger, so it's a lot of fun. There are so many twists and turns. I think each episode is really exciting.

Fiona Shaw: I would say the first episode because they're going to launch into something, you said the word delicious, so delicious. There's actually so much going on at that wedding, and I think they know they're going to have fun.
