Are you the only one from MTV? Season 8: Where Are They Now?

After Are you the only one? season 9 premiered on Paramount+, it's no wonder there are questions whether all of the season 8 couples are still together. The 2019 season of one of the best reality shows on TV scheduled the first reality dating show to include sexually fluid contestants. Instead of ten straight men looking for matches among ten straight women, all of the Season 8 contestants were bisexual and eligible to be paired with anyone in the Hawaiian village.

The consequences of Are you the only one? season 8 died. However, it's always a fun exercise to look back and catch up on what previous cast members are up to these days. Plus, it's fun to revisit old seasons while waiting for the possible release of Are you the only one? season 10. While Are you the only one? season 8 isn't top of all seasons, it's still worth talking to cast members after matchmaking.

Aasha and Brandon

Not Together

Aasha Wells and Brandon Davis were confirmed as the only Perfect Match in the Truth Booth for Season 8, allowing them to remain together for the final five weeks of the competition. Despite being one of the best Are you the only one? couples, they admitted they broke up in the unofficial reunion episode as soon as the show ended. Aasha still lives in Florida and recently started her podcast called Aasha uncensored. Earning her degree in Communications and Journalism is paying off for Aasha.

Brandon's fate since competing on the show is less clear. The former Salt Lake City athlete and fitness guru with a military background has yet to appear on another reality show. However, the timing of the pandemic may have been attributed to his disappearance from the spotlight. With a non-existent social media presence, it's difficult to say what Brandon will do in 2023.

Amber and Remy

Not Together

New York natives Amber Martinez and Remy Duran never sat down together once, but were declared a perfect match during the season finale. After competing in Are you the only one?Amber participated in The Challenge: Double Agents in 2020-21. Amber co-presents a The challenge reaction show on YouTube, although there hasn't been an update in two years. Apparently, Amber now lives in Los Angeles.

Since his time on the show, Remy has leveraged his minor celebrity to influence legions of followers on social media. He further monetized his popularity from the show with an OnlyFans account. Notably, Remy welcome a son named Ari with his partner Zoey, who he continually brags about on his Instagram page. With his professional TV career on hold, Remy is focused on being his best dad while enjoying travel.

Basit and Jonathan

Not Together

Best known for his drag character Dionne Slay, Basit continues to advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, co-founding production company Legacy: A Black Queer Production Collective.

For the first time in the show's history, viewers had access to a perfect match inside the house that the competitors were unaware. This match was between Basit Shittu and Jonathan Monroe, a genuine couple who were together for 7 out of 10 weeks. Best known for his drag character Dionne Slay, Basit continues to advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, co-founding production company Legacy: A Black Queer Production Collective.

As for Jonathan, he moved from his native Florida to Los Angeles, where he gave up his former career as a bank manager to become a professional hair and makeup artist. Jonathan's current relationship status is being kept under wraps. Hopefully he's been okay since the show.

Danny and Kai

Not Together

Danny Prikazsky and Kai Wes teamed up in the first week and sat together five times before being declared a Perfect Match in the final. Since then, Danny has parlayed his charming screen presence into several appearances in short films and TV shows like The verdict and On your own Theory. He appears to be merging his experience as a data technology scientist with more acting roles to produce content for brands like Monster Fight Club to Crypt TV.

After appearing on MTV True Life: Quarantine Stories and producing the short film They In 2020, Kai Wes continues to raise awareness in the LGBTQ+ community as a non-binary transmasculine person who uses they/them pronouns. Kai documented her brave transition on Instagram and appeared on G-Flip's IG Live to Playboy. The defender appears to be romantically linked to intimacy coach Hunter Rae.

Jasmine and Nour

Not Together

Jasmine Olson and Nour Fraij sat together for weeks 8-10 before being deemed a perfect match. Jasmine moved to Dallas, Texas where she works as a professional model. The captivating beauty has gained a popular following, even appearing on MTV shows Costa Floribama season 4. Despite accumulating more than 30 thousand followers in Jasmineof Instagram, she posts infrequently. The Mississippi-born Scorpio prefers to focus on her modeling efforts rather than social media influence. She seems to be living your best life in the Texas heat.

Nour, located in Las Vegas, Nevada, has become a mother to a boy named Noah since her time on the show, the son of her boyfriend, Stanley. Nour works as an artist and digital creator who founded her own company, Love always Nourand appears to be thriving since her time on the hit MTV reality show. Outside of her parental responsibilities, she juggles several other skills. Nour models, acts, and remains an avid connoisseur of all things fitness.

Jenna and Paige

Jenna Brown and Paige Cole had brief flirtations with each other before ending up strong as a perfect match in the end. After moving from her conservative hometown in Indiana, Jenna lives as an artist in Los Angeles. Although she appeared to be dating a woman named Nani, they broke up in 2023. Since then, she started dating Brooke Harrington, another local artist from the Los Angeles area. The duo looks incredibly happy, with Jennaof Instagram account with the two hugging and looking very happy. The comments section is filled with supportive fans congratulating the couple.

Paige, originally from Allen, Texas, lives in New York City, where she gives video tutorials on exotic dances. Paige and Remy admitted they hooked up and had a brief fling during the finale of Are you the only one? Season 8, although Paige appears to be single in 2024. She changed her look drastically, growing out her short brown hair and opting for a flattering blonde cut.

Kariselle and Max

After the show, Kari moved from New Jersey to Baltimore, where she works as a professional NFL cheerleader for the Baltimore Ravens as part of the Raven's Playmakers Squad.

Although Kariselle Snow and Kylie Smith seemed destined to become a perfect match, algorithms revealed that Max was Kari's ideal partner. Justin Palm and Kylie Smith never sat together during the show, but were revealed as Perfect Matches at the end. After competing, Justin moved from his native Palmdale, California, to New York, where he works as a photographer and content creator. Since his Instagram is private, it's hard to tell if Justin is currently single.

As for Kylie, the Utah native appeared on the MTV dating show Match me if you can in 2021. Kylie moved to New York and continues to earn a living as a model. She appears to be single in 2024, but is enjoying the single life. Often posting photos of herself and her friends on her Instagram, Kylie can be found dancing, eating out and enjoying the sun. Hopefully, all Are you the only one? season 8 contestants find love sooner or later.

Although the show primarily focuses on matchmaking, the entertainment value of watching all these contrasting personalities interact makes the show an excellent watch. Although neither couple maintained a relationship, their time on the Reality TV program gave them a fantastic opportunity to develop your images and brands online. Most competitors took advantage of the spotlight and managed to build a media empire.

At a minimum, the inclusive environment of Are you the only one? allows contestants to identify what they are looking for in future partners in a judgment-free atmosphere. For people like Jenna Brown, it may have provided a platform to meet others outside of their immediate circle. In the meantime, viewers can look forward to a new season, with a new slate of personalities, in the hopes that one contestant can truly find their one and only.
