Notice! Spoilers ahead for Chicago Med Season 10, Episode 6.Archer’s declaration of war with Lenox in Chicago Middle Season 10, Episode 6 emphasizes his worst character trait. Archer is one of actor Steven Weber’s best roles throughout his long career. He has been part Chicago Middle cast since season 6, when he arrived to temporarily take over ED chief responsibilities while Choi (Brian Tee) was out of commission after needing surgery. He frequently butts heads with other doctors and, in season 10, has been fighting with newcomer Caitlin Lenox (Sarah Ramos) for control of the ED.
Tensions between Archer and Chicago MiddleThe newest character came to light during this episode when Lenox wanted to perform risky brain surgery on a teenager with serious injuries. The board supported Lenox’s decision despite Archer’s vigorous objections. When the patient died in surgery, Archer blamed Lenox for this as she told him to stop.living in an alternative world where you are always right.“ Archer’s anger leads him to act to remove Lenox as co-boss, but this impetuous move emphasizes his worst character trait.
Lenox’s conflict on Chicago Med season 10, episode 6 highlights Archer’s self-righteousness
He always thinks he knows what’s best, even when he doesn’t
Archer’s tendency to be arrogant and hypocritical is an unpleasant trait. His passion for medicine is clear, but it’s irritating that he constantly demands what he wants, sometimes crossing ethical boundaries to do so.. Archer seemed hypocritical in Chicago Middle Season 9 when he told Zola to read the ethical guidelinessince sometimes he doesn’t follow them either. One glaring example is his decision in a Season 6 episode to purposely put a patient into a coma so he could override their wishes and give them the surgery they thought they needed, which they refused to consent to.
Lenox isn’t the first doctor he’s unfairly blamed for things that went wrong. After Zola challenged Chicago Med’s Crockett Marcel and attempted to extract organs from an apparently dead patient too soon, Archer criticized Marcel for not properly supervising her, leading him to micromanage Dr. Tanaka-Reid out of fear that he was not guiding his students correctly. The only person Archer can’t treat this way is Hannah Asher.as she has repeatedly demonstrated that she is not afraid to stand up to him.
Archer and Lenox’s conflict is far from over and will affect Chicago Med season 10
Archer fired a shot at the bow at the end of this episode
Archer and Lenox’s conflict will likely last for the rest of the Chicago Middle season 10. He has butted heads with Lenox since his introduction. Episode 6 ended with an argument in which Archer accused Lenox of being responsible for the loss of a patient, and she responded that “In the real world, we sometimes lose patients.“Unhappy with her response, Archer has decided to file a complaint in an attempt to have Lenox removed, and it is unlikely that she will accept this without resistance.
From him [Archer] arrogance will cause Lenox to waste time and energy defending herself, while Sharon will have to decide what to do to keep the ED running smoothly.
Archer’s attempt to remove Lenox from the co-boss position will lead to a power struggle between the two characters. His arrogance will cause Lenox to waste time and energy defending herself, while Sharon will have to decide what to do to keep the ED running smoothly. Archer issuing an ultimatum should cause him to lose his position, but he won’t tolerate it either. That’s why, Chicago Middle It will likely continue to feature the war between Archer and Lenox until the end of Season 10.
