Apple TV+ has some exciting series and Silo has now become one of my favorites on the streamer alongside shows like Ted Lasso and Shrinking. The first season did a great job of introducing the world of the series, with Rebecca Ferguson’s Juliette Nichols desperately trying to find answers to the mysteries that lie in the silo. The show follows 10,000 people who live in an underground silo several years after an unknown event made the Earth’s surface uninhabitable. The dystopian series is dark, and season 2 does a great job of taking things even further after an emotional first season.

Silo season one ended with Juliette doing something no one had done before. The character was sent outside to clean the silo’s camera against her will. However, she decided not to clean and also went down the hill to venture into the unknown. Since no one had ever done these things before, those watching Juliette in the silo had strong reactions to her decision. Silo season two builds on this, showing what Juliette ended up putting into action in her silo and what the character is doing outside.
Rebecca Ferguson’s Juliette ventures into the unknown
Silo season two raises new questions
After discovering that there are several other silos out there, Juliette goes to one of them in season 2. Since the other silos were shown at the end of the first season, I wanted to see how different the others were from the one we followed. There are many interesting questions arising from this, as each silo may have a different organization or culture. The silo that Juliette explores in season 2 is certainly very different from the one we know and that in itself is exciting.
Season two adds some exciting new characters, and none caught my attention more than Steven Zahn’s Solo.
One of the most interesting characters in the series is in this silo. Season two adds some exciting characters, and none caught my attention more than Steven Zahn’s Solo. The character has a shocking backstory, and his interactions with Ferguson’s Juliette are my favorite part of season two. Solo is a quirky character who is quite mysterious and knows more than he lets on. In her debut, Juliette discovers some interesting information about the different silos, including her own.
Ferguson has been great in everything I’ve seen her. This is no different in Silo season 2. Although Juliette is a more physical character, without saying much most of the time, Ferguson always manages to make everything that is on her mind clear through her facial expressions or body language. The actress has complete command of the character, and this helped me connect with Juliette as she explored a new location. Due to her experience in Mechanics, Juliette is a resourceful character, and season 2 shows the full extent of this.
Silo season two sees tensions rise at home
Juliette’s absence lights a fire in her silo
Juliette’s decision not to clean up is a game changer for the series. It allows Silo season 2 to explore new locations while also organizing many events in its original silo. Since Juliette was the silo’s sheriff, her actions carry weight for the future of her community. People want to know how Juliette managed to climb the hill and whether or not she is still alive.
This setup is perfect for one of my favorite aspects of the series. While most silo citizens have no idea of the bigger picture, there are some who do. Robert Sims continues to be my favorite Common character, and Sims again plays an important role in Season 2, as he and Tim Robbins’ Bernard must understand the meaning of Juliette’s actions and how to keep the citizens in line afterward. SiloThe country’s political aspects and power plays are as intriguing as the mystery behind the origins of the silos.
From a technical point of view, season 2 is just as impressive as the first. Apple TV+ always delivers stunning visuals for its sci-fi and Silo is proof of that. Whether it’s the imposing size of the silos or the arid desert Juliette finds on the surface of the world, each new location feels real and a distinct part of the story. With perfect visual effects, the world of the show is immersive. Silo the second season somehow manages to be even better than the first, and fans aren’t ready for some of its shocking twists.
Silo Season 2 begins streaming on Apple TV+ on November 15, with new episodes released weekly.
Based on Hugh Howey There romance series, Silo is a science fiction drama series created for Apple TV and follows an engineer named Juliette who lives in a dystopian future.
