Anne Rice’s The Talamasca Casts Arrowverse Star in Series Regular Role

The next series The Talamasca added a new star. Talamasca refers to a fictional secret society often called the Order of the Talamasca, which derives from the work of author Anne Rice. The Order of the Talamasca appeared in the Vampire Chronicles series, as well as the Lives of the Mayfair Witches series. The Talamasca first appeared in the 1988 novel The Queen of the Damnedbut they haven’t appeared on TV yet. This will change with the next series The Talamascawhich is part of the Immortal Universe.

Put Variety, The Talamasca launched a new lead actor with Maisie Richardson-Sellerswho will play a regular character on the AMC series. Richardson-Sellers will play Olive in the series, described as “a seductive and ambitious Talamasca agent, assigned to be Guy Anatole’s (Denton) American trainer. She is skilled with information and a master of disguise in the ancient tradition of espionage.“

Richardon-Sellers isn’t the only cast member announced for The Talamasca. She will join a cast that already includes Nicholas Denton, William Fichtner and Elizabeth McGovern. This trio will play characters named Guy Anatole, Jasper and Helen respectively. Olive from Richardson-Sellers will likely work with Jasperwho was described as a person who assumed power from the Mother House of Talamasca in London. Guy Anatole is the protagonist, who is said to be a young man who becomes absorbed in the Talamasca upon learning that they have been with him since childhood.

As for Richardson-Sellers, the actor is best known for playing Amaya Jiwe in the DC series Legends of Tomorrow. This series is part of the Arrowverse media franchise, which also includes shows like Arrow, Supergirland The Flash. Although smaller in scope thus far, the Immortal Universe is also a media franchise, and The Talamasca will be the third entry in this franchise. Even in her fledgling acting career, Richardson-Sellers is getting deeply involved in franchise content as the pinnacle of her career.

Richardson-Sellers will bring a new audience

Richardon-Sellers is a good choice for this role in The Talamasca. Whereas someone like McGovern can draw Downton Abbey fans of the Anne Rice series, Richardson-Sellers is a star who could appeal to a younger audience. In addition to Legends of TomorrowShe was also on Netflix The Kissing Booth 2which, although poorly rated, was popular on the platform. These past roles will help attract audiences to Richardson-Sellers’ new role, hopefully raising the profile of The Talamasca.
