Ghost returned Ana de Armas to the action genre and also reunited her with Chris Evans after Knives out and The Gray Man. Unfortunately, Ghost was met with an underwhelming critical response. Evans and de Armas expected much better, especially since Ghost It has all the elements of a crowd-pleasing hit. It is simply not possible to combine these elements with enough originality or creativity to leave an impression.
Ghost It could be a sweet romantic comedy, a fun spy comedy, or a thrilling adventure. Ultimately he doesn’t pick a lane and his attempts to cover every possible angle means he spreads himself too thin. There are times when Ghost it shows glimpses of the great action comedy it could have been, which is why it got a more positive response from audiences. General, Ghost represents a missed opportunity.

Stone Hands tells the story of the rise of legendary Panamanian boxer Roberto Durán. It’s a fairly formulaic boxing film, with a rags-to-riches story and a heavy use of visual metaphors related to the sport, but it’s still a compelling drama. Most of the drama is driven by Durán’s relationship with his American coach, played by Robert De Niro.who, of course, starred in the biggest boxing movie of all time, Raging Bull.
Ana de Armas plays Durán’s love interest, and she makes the most of a part that doesn’t offer her much depth or attention. Stone Hands it’s really about a man, but it often leaves some ambiguity hanging over Durán. He is seen as saint and sinner everywhere Hands of Stone. While this tough reputation reflects the lives of many professional athletes, it does mean that Stone Hands it feels strangely incomplete.

Sergio stars Wagner Moura as a Brazilian UN diplomat who travels to Iraq shortly after the start of the war in 2003 in an attempt to negotiate the withdrawal of American troops. It is a remarkable true story of heroism in the face of lethal danger, although Sergio balances this with a more personal story that revolves around his relationship with a colleague, played by Ana de Armas.
The romantic side of Sergio often surpasses the history of his diplomatic work, so de Armas has an important role to play. She and Moura are great to watchdeveloping a firm chemistry that anchors some tender moments like Sergio jump in time. The story sometimes loses sight of its objective, but ends up managing to pay homage to its theme. Romance is undoubtedly the driving force throughout the film.

The Informant It doesn’t give Ana de Armas much to do, but it’s still one of the best films she’s appeared in. She plays the wife of Joel Kinnaman’s main character, who is forced to work as an FBI informant while he goes undercover. in a violent Polish criminal syndicate. She plays her role admirablyproviding a relatable enough angle to allow the film to utilize his character to advance the plot or to raise the emotional stakes for the other characters.
The Informant is a surprisingly effective thriller. It doesn’t exactly attempt to reinvent the genre, and many of its elements will be very familiar to audiences who enjoy gritty crime dramas. However, it operates admirably within those limits, thanks to a convincing performance from Joel Kinnaman. It also keeps pace, jumping from one action scene to another as the underlying tension slowly builds.

War Dogs is a hilarious crime comedy from Clown director Todd Phillips stars Jonah Hill and Miles Teller as two arms dealers looking to profit from the Iraq war and who quickly find themselves in a difficult situation. It’s an absurd story of a maneuver gone wrong, but War Dogs It’s actually based on a true story. The story is just a loose adaptation, although it’s often difficult to tell which of the crazy details are true and which are fictional.
Ana de Armas plays the girlfriend of one of the arms dealers who opposes the war. She doesn’t have a very important role, but she plays it well. She’s often the straight man in contrast to Miles Teller’s nervous comedic energy. Although she doesn’t often act in comedies, de Armas is the right choice for War Dogs. The comedy gave her one of her first English-language roles before establishing herself as a star.

The best way to understand the answer to The Gray Man is to look at the scores it has on Rotten Tomatoes. It has a paltry 45% critics’ score, but its audience score is an impressive 90%.. It’s incredibly rare for a film to have such a huge gulf. This highlights how The Gray Man It’s a fun crowd pleaser. Many of the common criticisms leveled against it, such as the clichéd narrative and uninspired characterization, don’t affect its ability to deliver mind-bending thrills.
Ana de Armas is part of a wonderful cast in The Gray Man. She plays a CIA agent who works alongside Ryan Gosling’s rogue assassin. Netflix trusted the Russo brothers with a budget of $200 million to The Gray Man, a rarity for the streaming platform and a rarity for any studio handling an original story. Their gamble appears to have paid off. Ana de Armas will likely return to The Gray Man 2which is currently under development.

Blonde (2022)
Norma Jeane/Marilyn Monroe
Blonde was seen by many as a disappointment when it was released. A Marilyn Monroe biopic sounds like a great idea, especially with a glamorous and exciting young actor to play her. Monroe’s life is a case study in the rapacious nature of the American media and the abject dehumanization that often accompanies stardom, but many critics felt that Blonde missed the target. Blonde alters the true story of Monroe’s life in some ways, and attracted controversy over its treatment of its subject.
Even the harsh critics BlondeThose who disagreed with the film’s half-truths and distorted characterization highlighted Ana de Armas’ excellent performance. She earned her first Oscar nomination for Blondealthough the film was never popular enough with critics for her to have a strong chance of winning. It’s a testament to her performance that she was nominated in such a controversial film. Gradually, Blonde could well be reevaluated in the years to come, not as a Monroe biopic per se, but as a metatextual interrogation of how fame distorts people’s perceptions of humanity.
