Notice! This article contains spoilers for Arcane Season 2.
The death of a specific character broke the audience’s heart in Arcane Season 2, but a compelling theory has been crafted to explain that they may have survived after all. As expected in the last part of a TV show, Arcane The season 2 finale featured the deaths of several main characters. Some of the Arcaneof League of Legends champions were killed in the final battle, from Heimerdinger’s sacrifice that allowed Ekko to live another day to the tragic deaths of Viktor, Jayce and Vander/Warwick.
Evidently, ArcaneThe cast of characters was drastically reduced in size by the time of season 2, episode 9’s credits. Arcaneof League of Legends-inspired story is confirmed in production, the many characters mentioned above who met a grim fate will likely not be a part of them. In addition to those mentioned, another major Arcane the character was thought to have sacrificed himself in Arcanefinal episode. However, Arcane dropped plenty of hints that this fan-favorite character actually survived, leading to the formulation of an incredibly plausible theory.
Jinx apparently sacrificed herself at the end of Arcane’s second season
Has Jinx’s story come to an end, or not?
The character in question is Jinx. Jinx’s supposed death in Arcane season 2 was not only a tragic sacrifice to save his sister, but it also had important thematic significance as to why the series ended. Jinx was an integral part of all major plot points Arcaneoften being the start of various butterfly effects that led to the show’s conclusion. As for how this happened, Jinx seemed to have sacrificed herself to save Vi from Warwick.
The end of Arcane Season 2 saw Viktor defeated by Jayce, leaving the former’s metallic soldiers inert. However, ArcaneWarwick-Vander’s werewolf beast wasn’t entirely under Viktor’s control like the others, meaning he returned to his bloodthirsty tendencies after the Machine Herald’s defeat. In an effort to save Vi, Jinx approached Warwick in the abyss of the Hexgate tower below them. Despite Vi’s attempts to capture Jinx, Jinx and Warwick fell below.with Jinx’s detonation of one of her grenades seemingly confirming their deaths.
Arcane Theory: Jinx used her Shimmer powers to escape the explosion
Eagle-eyed viewers discovered an interesting detail
That said, Jinx’s potential survival of the explosion in Arcane it may have been hidden in plain sight. In an effort to formulate evidence that supports your favorite character’s survival Arcane viewers began to analyze the scene depicting Jinx’s apparent death. Interestingly, their efforts bore fruit. After a variety of freeze frames were collected, there may have been some evidence that Jinx used her Shimmer powers to escape the explosion and survive the events of Arcane 2nd season.
In one frame, the blue blast from Jinx’s grenade can clearly be seen filling the bottom of the Hexgate tower. In the upper right section of the explosion, however, a pink streak is shown exploding outwards. This sequence is reminiscent of the artistic effect used to portray Jinx’s Shimmer powers as she avoids attacks and moves at inhuman speeds, which uses faded pink lines extending from Jinx’s eyes. This provided the basis for the theory that Jinx survived, with other elements of Arcane Season 2 adding kindling, fuel and matches to the fire and bringing it to life.
Caitlyn’s final scene teases that Jinx survived Arcane’s ending
Hexgate Tower is important
The next piece of evidence audiences found to support the idea of Jinx’s survival came from Caitlyn. After all is said and done, Arcane The season 2 epilogue finds Caitlyn and Vi evaluating the events of the finale. Caitlyn is shown sitting in front of her family’s computer, which was first shown when she used ArcaneKiramman Key in Season 2, Act I. Seeing what Caitlyn is looking at, the theory of Jinx being alive gains more credibility.
This implied to hopeful audiences that Jinx’s aforementioned Shimmer powers were used to propel her into one of these ducts, escaping the explosion…
Caitlyn is shown viewing schematics of the Hexgate tower while holding one of Jinx’s defunct grenades. Caitlyn then zooms in on the bottom of the Hexgate blueprints, revealing that several vents and ducts spread across the bottom of the tower, bringing a small smile to the Piltover Sheriff’s face. This implied to hopeful audiences that Jinx’s aforementioned Shimmer powers were used to propel her into one of these ducts, escaping the explosion and living to fight another day.
Jinx’s Silco vision hints at her survival
Arcane themes make Jinx’s death less likely
In Arcane Season 2, Episode 8, Jinx is shown assessing Isha’s death. Jinx, devastated by the loss of what was essentially her daughter, is shown completely despondent in a cell after surrendering to Piltover’s enforcers, even leading her to a suicide attempt in episode 9. During her incapacitation, Jinx has a vision of Silco in which he transmits many of the Arcanethemes for Jinx and therefore the audience. Silco explores the cycle of violence and how it will always be a part of humanity, insisting that many ways humans think to break the cycle actually continue it.
Silco’s final words are that there is a way to break the cycle of violence – by voluntarily abandoning it. If Jinx survived Arcane Season 2, she would have done just that. This is supported by a final piece of evidence that Arcane season 2 presents, suggesting that Jinx survived as this theory claims and that she heeded Silco’s words and turned away from the violence plaguing humanity.
The first Jinx line from Arcane Season 1 supports this theory
Arcane bookends surround Jinx
The evidence in question that suggests Jinx has moved away from the cycle of violence is ArcaneIt’s the last shot. Before the credits of the final episode in Arcane Season 2, Episode 9, a white Piltover airship is shown flying across the ocean. The show does not disclose who is on the aircraft, leading many to assume it is Caitlyn and Vi, who – in the previous scene – vowed to continue the fight against injustice. However, Jinx’s first line in Arcane the first season suggests that it could actually be her on the aircraft.
A title card separates the photo of the Piltover airship and the credits for Arcane Season 2, Episode 9. It says “The End” and is written in Jinx’s style, further suggesting that she survived.
In Arcane season 1, episode 1, Vi and Jinx, then known as Powder, are shown making their way up to Piltover alongside Claggor and Mylo. Powder is impressed by Piltover’s technological advancement as a white aircraft flies overhead. His first line in the entire show is as follows: “Wow. One day, I’m going to ride one of these things.” If Jinx survived, as the aforementioned evidence seems to suggest, Jinx flying away from Piltover in the white airship would offset her first line in Arcane and prove that she overcame a generational problem by turning away from humanity’s violence.
Set in the League of Legends universe, Arcane focuses on sisters Violet and Powder (later Jinx), who end up on opposite sides of a growing conflict between the wealthy utopia of Piltover and its dark underground city, whose citizens wish to break away from their oppressors. . Hailee Steinfeld, Ella Purnell and Kevin Alejandro star in this animated adventure.
