We are all dead killed off one of the series’ most important characters, which means the K-drama zombie will be very different in season two. We are all dead Season 2 doesn’t have a release date, but it looks like it might only come out in 2026, as filming has been pushed back to 2025. While waiting for We are all deadThe return of has been frustrating, a few things can be inferred about what the second season will be like. For example, We are all dead 2 it will not be based on the webtoon.
With most of the source material being covered during the first season, it can be difficult to theorize what will happen next. We are all dead season 2. However, the final episodes of season 1 could paint a good picture of what Netflix’s K-drama will be like now. Cheong-san’s death and Nam-ra’s return will certainly inform the story of Season 2, but so will Nam So-ju’s death. Without On-jo’s father, We are all dead may not have an adult main character to followgiving students Hyosan all their time in the spotlight.
All of Us Are Dead Season 2 Won’t Follow Nam So-ju Like Season 1 Did
On-jo’s father was one of the main characters in We’re All Dead
While most We are all dead The first season took place at Hyosan High, a significant portion of the show was set outside the school and followed On-jo’s father trying to reunite with his daughter. So-ju was on the other side of town when the outbreak began and spent most of the season trying to get back to school to rescue her daughter. Not only did So-ju’s scenes give us a fun B-plot that helped with the pacing of the show, but they also allowed us to get a glimpse of what was going on outside of the school.
Although So-ju was reunited with his daughter, he immediately had to sacrifice himself and stay behind while the children escaped.
We are all dead there was another B plot with the two detectives trying to get the baby to safety, but they didn’t get as much screen time as So-ju. Now that On-jo’s father is dead, We are all dead lost its main “adult character”. This means that Season 2 could be completely focused on the children, who, at the end of Season 1, realized that no one would come to their rescue and had to save themselves. Given So-ju’s importance in Season 1, her absence in the We are all dead 2 will be noticed.
Nam So-ju’s death in We’re All Dead was heartbreaking, but it needed to happen
So-ju would have been an easy solution to all children’s problems
The death of On-jo’s father in We are all dead It was one of the show’s most moving moments. We followed So-ju for several episodes, waiting for him to reunite with On-jo and would help the students escape, which seemed feasible given that he was an experienced rescuer trained to deal with extreme situations. However, although So-ju was reunited with his daughter, he immediately had to sacrifice himself and stay behind while the children escaped. It was a bittersweet conclusion for one of the We are all dead main stories of season 1.
That being said, On-jo’s father had to die for the story to move forward. The point of We are all dead was that the children were alone – tragically, no one would come to save them. Even those who did, like Cheong-san’s mother and On-jo’s father, couldn’t do it. The military halted any rescue missions as soon as they learned of the existence of asymptomatic zombies, which is why the Hyosan survivors could count on no one but themselves. As a trained rescuer, So-ju would have been an easy solution to all of his problems in the long run.

We are all dead season two could potentially introduce new military characters and have them as the main antagonists, especially since hambies like Nam-ra will continue to be seen as threats. There could also be new scientists trying to study the Jonas virus, potentially replacing Dr. Lee Byeong-chan’s role in the story. Without considering, We are all dead has a lot of ways to reinvent itself now that so many important characters from the first season have been killed off.
