In the 2012 film, The Hunger Gamesteenager Katniss Everdeen is thrown into a deadly competition against 23 other teenagers, almost all of whom died at the end of the 74th Hunger Games. Since the publication of Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games book in 2008, the young adult series has become a mainstay of YA fiction and dystopia. Over the course of three books (and four films), audiences see Katniss not only survive the Hunger Games but also overthrow the cruel government who created them. However, Katniss faced many unique characters before the end of her story.
Although The Hunger Games focuses primarily on Katniss’ experience in the Hunger GamesIt’s hard to ignore the other Hunger Games tributes who are also joining the games with her. Some of these figures are Katniss’s immediate enemies, not only because of the competition, but because of their class. Others turn out to be surprising allies. However The Hunger Games doesn’t delve into all the tributes from the 74th Hunger Games, all 24 exist and make an impact on the games.

Wonder
District 1 Boy
The male tribute chosen from District 1 during the 74th Hunger Games is named Marvel. As a member of District 1, Marvel has been trained since birth to enter (and win) the Hunger Games. For much of the book, Marvel’s brute strength and class put him over the top. Marvel is quickly absorbed by the Carreiras, a group of tributes from the richest neighborhoods. After training assessments, Marvel is considered the third strongest career.
During the Hunger Games, Marvel ends up killing several tributes in the Cornucopia and beyond. However, in the midst of the competition, Marvel is killed when Katniss shoots him in the neck. She does this because he killed Rue. In reality, Katniss never knew Marvel’s name until Catching fire, but his death stays with her a little. Shine
Girl from District 1
Marvel’s partner in crime is a girl named Glimmer. She was similarly trained from a young age to fight in the Hunger Games and proves her skills by killing at least one tribute during the competition. She is also part of the Careers and participates in the attempt to kill Katniss. She is also the reason Peeta joins the Careers. Before the games, Glimmer stands out because the token she received before the Games, a ring, had a poisoned blade inside it.
Ultimately, Glimmer doesn’t survive long in the Hunger Games. While she and the Careers are camped under Katniss’s tree, Katniss drops a nest of homers on top of them. Most of the Careers manage to escape, but not Glimmer. She is stung countless times and ends up dying from the poison. Katniss witnesses Glimmer’s death and observes that the girl has become unrecognizable. Glimmer is portrayed by Leven Rambin.

Cato
Boy from District 2
One of the most important tributes in The Hunger Games is Cato. Like most Careers, Cato is an incredibly skilled fighter. In fact, he was not chosen at random in the Harvest, but volunteered to participate in the Games. All over The Hunger Games, Cato serves as the main antagonist against Katniss. He is a kind of leader of the Careers, drawing up plans for them, and ends up being the last of them to survive. This leads to an intense final battle between Katniss, Peeta, and Cato, which Cato eventually loses.
Cato’s death may be one of the most horrific in history. The Hunger Games.

clove
Girl from District 2
Cato’s district partner is Clove. Once again, Clove stands out as a major threat due to her wealth and training. She is especially notable for her knife skills. This ends up helping her when she commits the first death of the 74th Hunger Games during the bloodbath at the Cornucopia. Later, Clove and Katniss have an intense fight when each of the tributes is lured to the Cornucopia to get something they really need. Katniss might not have survived if it weren’t for Clove’s shocking death.
At the Cornucopia, when Clove is about to kill Katniss, the girl from District 2 is murdered by Thresh with a large rock. Thresh kills Clove because he believes she killed Rue. Clove’s death is yet another violent and brutal moment this is made worse by the fact that Cato finds her body and openly mourns her. Katniss finds herself comparing Clove and Cato to her and Peeta, because the District 2 duo might have survived if Katniss and Peeta hadn’t. Clove is played by Isabelle Fuhrman.

District 3 Boy
A career accomplice
District 3’s male tribute is never named The Hunger Games, but he plays a somewhat interesting role. The District 3 boy’s biggest role in setting the Careerists’ traps was what led to his death.
