Paramount + Has many new TV shows and movies coming in October 2024, including a lot of horror content for the month of Halloween. Paramount + was launched in March 2021 as a rebranding of the CBS All Access streaming platform, with the aim of expanding its offerings and reach. Thanks to the re-merger between CBS and Viacom in 2019, Paramount+ also has access to Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and MTV libraries. That usually means library content is more exciting to subscribers than new content because they can binge existing series.
Unlike some of its competitors, Paramount+ did not place an emphasis on original movie programming except in the case of children’s films. However, the streaming service has a popular lineup of exclusive original series, including those spanning multiple timelines and decades Yellowstone Franchise. In September 2024, some of the biggest content for the streamer was Criminal Minds and other series that originally aired on CBS.

The best movies and shows come to the top + this month
Friday the 13th Movies – October 1st …an incredibly fun look at how the slasher subgenre of horror has evolved.
Not every chapter of the US Friday the 13th Franchise is present on Paramount +, but the majority of them are. This makes marathoning the slasher franchise a must in October. The franchise starts with the classic summer camp slasher and expands far beyond that as Jason Voorhees becomes a larger-than-life villain.
Friday the 13th is one of the most beloved slasher movies of all time, largely because the first movie in the franchise is so different from the other slashers (like Halloween) that came out in the same era. It presented a surprising villain in the first chapter, then a twist for the second, until the study of Jason and the final girl became even bigger than the movies themselves. They are an incredibly fun look at how the slasher subgenre of horror has evolved.
Galaxy Quest – October 1
Star Trek is one of the most adored science fiction franchises. That’s why a movie that takes the Star Trek tropes and parodies them with his own space travel show in It might not seem like it would become a cult classic, but it did.
Galaxy Quest is a great reference of science fiction and space travel shows. It combines an actual sci-fi story of humans meeting aliens with that of “washed-up” actors working the convention circuit to great effect. It is also one of the funniest movies that Sigourney Weaver and Alan Rickman have been a part of.
Although there are those who are still clamoring for a sequel years later, it seems unlikely that it will be made. At least fans can stream it whenever they want as it periodically moves between the different streaming services.
Indiana Jones Movies – October 1st
Harrison Ford has had the pleasure of playing a handful of iconic characters in his career. Audience love Indiana Jones So much so that Ford donned the fedora as Jones for five movies. The first four are available on Paramount+ this month.
each Indiana Jones Movie is a great adventure around a central object and a magical story at least somewhat rooted in history. In the modern day, there may be aspects of the storylines the audience does not approve of, which does not make the movies any less fun. Ford was clearly born to play Indiana Jones and the franchise has an excellent supporting cast, amazing set pieces, entertaining action scenes and fascinating story.
For the fans who might want more Indiana Jones Content, additional shows and movies can be found on Disney+.
Jennifer’s Body – October 1
like a horror movie, Jennifer’s body May have been just a little ahead of his time. Although there are many female-led horror franchises, most focus on the girl next door becoming the final girl for a movie or two before turning the reins to a new heroine and moving on. Jennifer’s body Made one of the young women miserable because of what was done to her.
The movie is just as much a commentary on how young women are treated by society as it is a fun horror flick, and a lot of audiences overlooked that when it first released. It has fantastic performances from Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfriend and Kyle Gallner, and definitely deserves to be watched alongside the classics this Halloween.
Little Women (1994) – October 1
It seems like it might be a cinema tradition for a new version of Louisa May Alcott’s novel to be told every few decades. 2019 saw the release of Greta Gerwig’s big screen version of Little womenWhich is considered one of the best. While that’s true, the 1994 version of.
It features Trini Alverado, Winona Ryder, Claire Danes and Kirsten Dunst (and later, Samantha Mathis) in the roles of the March sisters, while Christian Bale is Laurie. These versions of the characters are straight from Alcott’s pages, so for those looking for something a little more comforting, if tear-jerking, to watch instead of all the horror content coming to streamers in October, Little women is a good bet.
Star Trek: Lower Decks – October 24
Paramount+ was the official home for Star Trek content since it originally launched as CBS All Access. Star Trek: Lower Decks is one of the modern Star Trek Series that was created specifically for the platform. Unlike almost all others Star Trek Content that came before, the series is animated, which gives the writers a little more room to play with circumstances and character design than a live-action budget.
The idea behind the show is to focus on the support crew rather than the captain and the ranking officer, which has made a unique take on the franchise. When the series premieres on Paramount+ this month, it will be for the final season. That’s certainly a blow for Trek Fans who have seen most of the new shows are already coming to an end. Fortunately, Paramount+ has a lot of Star Trek Happy to watch again and again along this final season.
Additional content is available to Paramount+ subscribers who have the Showtime Edition. TV shows from Paramount-owned networks continue to air new episodes in October and many CBS series premiere in October. Once they do, new episodes of the shows will also be available to stream Paramount + The day after they air, making October 2024 an even busier month than the last for the streamer. Paramount also adds live sporting and news coverage regularly. The content available depends on the playing schedules.
Friday the 13th is a horror-slasher film directed by Sean S. Cunningham and follows a group of camp counselors who are followed and murdered by an unknown assailant as they try to reopen a summer known as the site of a child’s drowning and a gruesome doubt. Murder. The film started a decades-long franchise that would eventually lead to the creation of Jason Vorhees, one of the most popular horror icons of all time.
