Godzilla He fought countless monsters in his 70 years on the silver screen, some of which he played a direct or indirect role in creating. While there have been several major iterations of Godzilla over the decades, the original Godzilla that attacked Tokyo in 1954 has had a lasting legacy throughout the radioactive lizard's different eras. Although the main timeline of Toho's Godzilla franchise has been reset many times, the original Godzilla is often recognized and sometimes used as an explanation for how the latest of Godzilla's many enemies came to be.
Although Godzilla himself never actively attempted to create a monster, his energy, his cells, and even the weapons used against him resulted in the origin of some of the most powerful creatures Godzilla has ever faced. Simply fear of Godzilla resulted in the creation of several of his most powerful enemies. The nature of their origin may differ, but these 11 monsters were all created directly or indirectly by the world's most popular monster at some point in its history.

Megaguirus
First appearance: Godzilla vs. Megaguirus (2000)
Megaguirus has one of the most straightforward origin stories of the monsters Godzilla faced in the Heisei and Millennium film eras. An orbital black hole weapon known as Dimension Tide was created as a defense against Godzilla, and during a test of the weapon, a prehistoric insect known as Meganula managed to pass through the wormhole. The creatures that hatched from that egg he laid attacked Godzilla, absorbed his energy and transferred it to their queen.which resulted in its evolution into the enormous insectoid Megaguirus. Godzilla's energy is directly responsible for the creation of Megaguirus in the film.

MUTO
First appearance: Godzilla (2014)
The MUTOs represented the first monsters Godzilla had fought in over a decade, when they made their debut in Legendary's first Monsterverse film. His origin as it relates to Godzilla is a little more indirect thanks to the different history of the Monsterverse as opposed to Toho's continuity. The two MUTOs that Godzilla fought in San Francisco in 2014 were descendants of a more powerful version of their species known as MUTO Primewho managed to kill a member of Godzilla's species centuries before the events of Godzilla and implant their parasitic descendants into your body.

Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire |
The MUTOs fed on the radioactive energy of Dagon, the other member of Godzilla's species, until he died from lack of radiation. The two monsters were disturbed by a mining operation in 1999 and 15 years later emerged from their new cocoons to breed again; both were killed by Godzilla. The MUTOs fed on the energy of a member of Godzilla's species to grow to the size they reached. So while it wasn't Godzilla himself who led to its creation, it's close to the same situation in the context of the Monsterverse.

Organization
First appearance: Godzilla 2000: Millennium (2000)
The massive monstrosity known as Orga served as the main antagonist in Godzilla 2000: Millenniumand it actually started as a group of aliens known as Millennians who crash-landed on Earth 60 million years ago. The aliens converted into a clump of biomass while asleep, but upon being awakened in the modern day, they flew their ship in search of genetic material that would help them survive on Earth. They choose Godzilla as the perfect form to assimilate given their prolific regenerative abilities, believing their form could help them conquer Earth.
Orga's origin is based on Godzilla's cells and DNA, repeating a trope that has been used frequently throughout Godzilla's history.
After subduing Godzilla and absorbing his DNA, the Millennials combined into one organism with the intention of taking Godzilla's form. However, volatile elements in Godzilla's DNA hindered the transformation processand what emerged from the ancient ship was Orga, the mutant horror who was presented as a twisted imitation of Godzilla. Orga's origin is based on Godzilla's cells and DNA, repeating a trope that has been used frequently throughout Godzilla's history.

Godzilla Junior
First appearance: Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II (1993)
Godzilla Junior is the sub-adult form of a creature that evolved throughout the Heisei Era films, who is not actually related to Heisei Godzilla. Originated as a juvenile Godzillasaurus (the species of dinosaur that was irradiated to create Godzilla) known as BabyGodzilla in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla IIthe creature grew up to become the adorable LittleGodzilla in Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla before evolving once again into the teenage version of Godzilla known as Godzilla Junior.
Although Godzilla did not give birth to the original BabyGodzilla, he adopted and cared for the young monster, even when he was still technically just a member of the Godzillasaurus species. However, Godzilla is directly responsible for the creature's transformation into Godzilla Junior, as it was Godzilla's internal nuclear meltdown in Godzilla vs. Destoroyah what triggered the nuclear explosion that transformed LittleGodzilla into Godzilla Junior.

Mecha King Ghidorah
First appearance: Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991)
Godzilla was indirectly responsible for the creation of Mecha-King Ghidorah, as he made his creation necessary and possible. In Godzilla vs King Ghidorah, Godzilla defeated King Ghidorah in the present day, destroying his middle head and wings in the processwhile technically leaving the monster still alive but in a coma. King Ghidorah's body was transported through time by the people known as Futurians, and he became a cyborg with cybernetic enhancements before being sent back in time to once again fight an angry Godzilla.
Mecha-King Ghidorah only came into existence because Godzilla devastated the organic King Ghidorah, leaving his destructive power in the 20th century unchecked. This void made Mecha-King Ghidorah seem like a viable solution to stakeholders in the 20th and 21st centuries. Godzilla's destruction also incapacitated King Ghidorah to the point where cybernetic enhancements were possible.

MechaGodzilla
First appearance: Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla (1974)
The story of Mechagodzilla in virtually every era of Godzilla film history, including Legendary's Monsterverse, is that he was built to be a direct response to Godzillaalthough with some differences in each case. The original Mechagodzilla was built by the infamous Black Hole Planet 3 aliens after studying Godzilla; they determined that a powerful, robotic version of Godzilla would be the perfect weapon they needed to conquer the planet. The Heisei Mechagodzilla was created with the intention of protecting Earth from Godzilla rather than conquering it.
The Monsterverse Mechagodzilla has a similar origin story in that it was created to reaffirm humans as the dominant species on the planet, as opposed to Godzilla and the other Titans. This Mechagodzilla was designed to be controlled through a telepathic connection between a Ghidorah skull inside Mechagodzilla and one outside the robot piloted by a human. However, Ghidorah's consciousness took over the entire robot and he went berserk in an attempt for revenge against Godzilla and all of humanity.

Kiryu
First appearance: Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (2002)
The version of Mechagodzilla used during Godzilla's Millennium Era deserves its own spot on the list due to its completely unique origins. The cyborg known as Kiryu was actually built around the skeletal remains of the 1954 Godzillarepresenting the first instance in which Mechagodzilla was not an entirely robotic creation. This element of his origin, of course, leads to complications, as the cyborg goes berserk when Godzilla's restless soul is awakened by the modern Godzilla's roar. Ultimately, Kiryu manages to defeat but not kill Godzilla, as the spirit chooses not to kill another member of his species.
4
MOGUERA
First appearance: Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla (1994)
Another robot designed to stop Godzilla and any other destructive kaijuMOGUERA (Mobile Operations Godzilla Universal Expert Robot Aero-type) was built alongside the Heisei Mechagodzilla and finally completed when Mechagodzilla was defeated by Godzilla. He debuted in Godzilla x SpaceGodzilla and was tested against the anomaly that would eventually be revealed as SpaceGodzilla, who ultimately defeated MOGUERA. The robot was repaired and sent into battle again, but as an ally of Godzilla as opposed to a force designed to stop him, as SpaceGodzilla was the greater threat.
3
Biolante
First appearance: Godzilla vs. Biolante (1989)
Biollante's origin is one of the least complicated in the Heisei series, but more fantastic. In true mad scientist fashion, Genichiro Shiragami merged Godzilla's cells into a rose bushalong with his dead daughter's cells, all combined to create a plant creature that grew at a rapid pace. The enormous flower beast still had the consciousness of Shiragami's dead daughter, and as little more than an enormous sentient rose, it was quickly defeated by Godzilla's atomic breath, releasing spores into the air upon its defeat.
The spores fell to the ground as Godzilla fought the Japanese Self-Defense Forces a few days later, and the enormous, monstrous plant-animal version of Biollante emerged. In the expanded canon of Godzilla, it is noted that Godzilla's atomic breath actually helped him transform from one form to anothermeaning that Godzilla was indirectly responsible for both the rose-shaped version of Biollante and his tentacled plant-animal version, which is one of the coolest monster designs in the Godzilla films.
2
SpaceGodzilla
First appearance: Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla (1994)
SpaceGodzilla was obviously created by Godzilla, as they have a nearly identical cellular structure, but it's interesting to note that the exact process behind their creation has never actually been confirmed. It is known that SpaceGodzilla was created when some of Godzilla's cells fell through a black hole in spaceand emerged from a white hole and began assimilating crystalline organisms from deep space and the burst of stellar energy. However, it was never revealed exactly how Godzilla's cells got to space.
Two main theories are postulated in Godzilla x SpaceGodzillaboth related to other monsters. The first theory states that when Biollante was defeated and ascended into the sky in the form of spores, the cells left Earth's atmosphere and flew through space, eventually being sucked into a black hole. The other theory states that Mothra carried some of the cells on her wings when she went into space in Godzilla vs. Mothraand the cells found their way to the black hole from there. Regardless of how it happened, SpaceGodzilla is simply a hybridized clone of Godzilla.
1
Destoroyah
First appearance: Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (1995)
The demonic Destoroyah is widely considered the "final boss" of Toho's Godzilla films, even though he doesn't appear as often as Godzilla's arch-rivals King Ghidorah and Mechagodzilla. It is unique in its origin, as it actually began as a colony of crustaceans that existed in the Earth's anaerobic environment 2.5 billion years ago, and remained dormant throughout that time in Tokyo Bay. Serizawa detonated the Oxygen Destroyer to kill the 1954 Godzilla, the colony was revived and began to mutateeventually combining and evolving into Destoroyah's various lethal forms.
It wasn't Godzilla's cells or energy that created Destoroyah, but the Oxygen Destroyer would never have been detonated if Godzilla hadn't attacked Japan. Where robots like Mechagodzilla or MOGUERA were created as a response to Godzilla, Destoroyah is a side effect of response against Godzilla, making him the indirect reason for his creation.
