Avengers: Secret Wars has the opportunity to unite several Marvel film teams into a single film. Earth’s Mightiest Heroes last appeared on the big screen in 2019 Avengers: Endgame. Since then, there have been no Avengers films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The team’s absence is a big factor behind criticism that the MCU’s Multiverse Saga feels virtually directionless. However, things are about to change. Two of the upcoming MCU films are new Avengers entries.
2026 Avengers: Judgment Day will debut the new version of the superhero team, while 2027 Avengers: Secret Wars will end the Multiverse Saga. Due to his important role in the current MCU saga, Avengers: Secret WarsThe story is expected to be the most ambitious the franchise has ever seen. With universes likely to collide as the incursions take place, multiple MCU teams and multiverse squads could appear at the end of the Multiverse Saga, with many teams being perfect for Avengers: Secret Wars.

New Avengers
A new roster for an existing MCU team
The original lineup of the MCU’s Avengers lasted four team-up films. The heroes still had the chance to shine in the huge Avengers: Endgameas most of the MCU’s heroes were eliminated by Thanos’ snap, leaving only a few alive besides the original Avengers. However, half of the superhero team’s 6-person roster has already been released. Black Widow and Iron Man are dead, while Chris Evans’ Captain America was last seen as an old man.
Thanks to the large influx of MCU projects during Phases 4 and 5, there are several heroes who could join the new Avengers. Established characters such as Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange and Sam Wilson as Captain America will likely play important roles in the new version of the team in Avengers: Judgment Day. After the debut of the new Avengers in the film, the team should return to lead once again Avengers: Secret Wars.

Original Avengers
The MCU’s most popular team
Although the new version of the Avengers is the center of attention in Avengers: Judgment DayThere’s still room for the original version of the MCU team to return for the end of the Multiverse Saga. Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. have already returned to the MCU in different roles, playing Johnny Storm/The Human Torch and Doctor Doom, respectively. Another Avengers star who left the franchise, Scarlett Johansson, is an executive producer on Marvel’s Rays*.
As such, all members of the original Avengers are still involved in some way with the MCU. Since RDJ plays the main villain in the next two Avengers films, it would be poetic if, Across the multiverse, new versions of Iron Man and Black Widow have entered the fray and teamed up with the Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye and Steve Rogers. The older Captain America could age like the comics, with the original Avengers returning to do so. Secret Wars as epic as expected.

This makes sense, both in terms of the comics that inspire the final events of the Multiverse Saga and the main villain of the MCU films. Reed Richards and the Fantastic Four are the key to Marvel Comics’ Secret Wars. The Future Foundation, the organization responsible for building lifeboats that save people from raids, was sparked by the Fantastic Four reboot. X-Men
A multiverse version of the team has been teased
It may be too early for the MCU’s version of the X-Men, but another iteration of the team will likely appear in Avengers: Secret Wars. There, a variant of Kelsey Grammer’s Beast from Fox’s X-Men films appeared.
More than that, Monica was apparently at the X-Men mansion, and Beast mentioned he was going to talk about her with Charles Xavier. After Deadpool and WolverineAfter Fox’s success, it would make sense for Marvel to use more stars from Fox’s X-Men films while the Multiverse Saga is still ongoing. New Guardians of the Galaxy
James Gunn’s Latest MCU Movie Debuted a New Team
The original Guardians of the Galaxy dissolved at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. After appearing in two Avengers films, Rocket Raccoon and Groot could lead their new team to help the Avengers.
Rocket and Thor developed a good bond in the last two Avengers films. As Chris Hemsworth is expected to return as the God of Thunder in Avengers: Secret WarsAt the very least, he could call on his friends from the Guardians of the Galaxy to help take down Doctor Doom. Original Guardians of the Galaxy
An established MCU team
Although the Guardians of the Galaxy are no longer together, every member of the team is still alive, including the variant Gamora standing in for the original. As Avengers: Secret Wars will be an event film that will affect multiple universes, the threat that Doctor Doom poses to the multiverse is too great for the Guardians to sit out. At the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord Confirmed to Return.
It’s true that Peter Quill could return alone or briefly join the new Guardians of the Galaxy in one of the upcoming Avengers films.
