Coming off the character's official debut in the MCU in Agatha all the timeAgatha Harkness' son returned to Marvel Comics to face the Scarlet Witch. Nicholas Scratch's comic book counterpart is quite different from his recent live-action television appearance, and the diabolical Fantastic Four villain has finally returned to raise hell for Wanda Maximoff and his family in their magical corner of the Marvel Universe.

Scarlet Witch #7 – written by Steve Orlando, with art by Lorenzo Tammetta – brings Nicholas Scratch face to face with the Scarlet Witch, her sons Wiccan and Speed, and her mysterious new protégé, Amaranth, as he appears to claim his place as one. of Marvel Comics' main magic users.

In complete contrast to how the character is represented in Marvel Studios films Agatha all the timeAgatha Harkness' son is a cowardly villain who despises his mother and the superheroes of the universe. Nicholas Scratch initially faced off against Marvel's First Family in 1977 Fantastic Four #185 by Len Wein, George Pérez and Joe Sinnott, kidnapping Agatha and Franklin Richards when she was the boy's nanny. After a long absence from Marvel Comics, Nicholas Scratch returned to the pages of Fantastic Four – written by Ryan North, with art by Carlos Gómez – and now makes another exciting appearance in Scarlet Witch #7.

In this issue, Nicholas Scratch finally gets a real fight with Scarlet Witch for the first time in his Marvel history. Although Scratch tries to put together a scheme that forces her to choose between her children and the potential young mate in her care, Wanda and Amaranth are able to take him down quite easily. With the witch's new “anti-magic” abilities, Amaranth causes Nicholas Scratch's spells to wither and die, leaving him utterly stunned, before Scarlet Witch turns him over to her evil Multiversal counterpart in the Witches' Underworld.

Will Agatha and her son finally reunite in Marvel Comics?

Agatha Harkness and her son, Nicholas Scratch

Since Nicholas Scratch was left to fight his way out of Hell, he could grow into a Marvel wizard in the process and become an integral part of his mother's current mission to destroy Scarlet Witch's new companion. With Nicholas now establishing a vendetta against Amaranth, just as Agatha attempts to eliminate her as a threat, perhaps mother and son can finally be reunited on better terms in the future. As Agatha's popularity blossoms, stemming from her MCU series, his son could also be used in a more prominent role in the future.

Although Nicholas's tragic MCU debut in Agatha all the time reimagined him as the witch's good-hearted son, his return to Marvel Comics officially places him in Scarlet Witch's growing rogues gallery.

Although the return of Agatha's son in Scarlet Witch #7 makes his potential as a threat seem a little underwhelming, which sets up a great return for the character as he returns from the Witch Underworld. Whether he comes back from hell to face Wanda's new sidekick, or Franklin Richards, Nicholas Scratch's Marvel Comics story could be reaching a powerful turning point with his latest release. Although Nicholas's tragic MCU debut in Agatha all the time reimagined him as the witch's kind son, his return to Marvel Comics officially puts him in from Scarlet Witch Growing rogues gallery.

Scarlet Witch #7 is now available from Marvel Comics.
