Warning! This episode contains spoilers for Agatha All Along Episode 5Agatha all along Episode 5 features an impressive collection of exciting Easter eggs and references, including a major first for the MCU. With the third trial of the coven on the witches’ road, the new test is all about Agatha (Cathryn Hahn) and her dark past. To that end, the new episode has some pretty cool references and even an homage to a classic horror movie.

So far, Agatha Harkness’ new coven has faced two trials in Agatha all alongOne designed for Jennifer Hale (Sasheer Zamata) and the other for Alice Wu-Gulliver (Ali Ahn). Now, Agatha Harkness is forced to commune with the dead, all while the Salem Seven are closing in, having made their way to the Witches Road themselves. how so Here are the biggest Easter eggs and reveals Agatha all along Episode 5.

15

Animal forms for the Salem Seven

Classic Comics Powers

As teased in earlier episodes, The Salem Seven are initially shown as various animals on Witches Road before being transformed into witches clad all in black. This includes a fox, a crow, a snake, and more. To that end, the ability to shapeshift and transform into various creatures was an established power of the Salem Seven in the original Marvel Comics. It is also revealed that the MCU’s Salem Seven are the vengeful children of Agatha’s original coven who formed their own “hive-minded coven”, rather than the children of Nicholas Scratch as they are in the comics.

14

Hexenbesen

Play the witches’ broom

With the Salem Seven closing in on all sides, Tin suggests a “hexenbesen” which is revealed to be a witches’ broom spell, allowing the coven to temporarily fly above the witches’ road.. The term “Hexenbesen” is an old German word for “witch’s broom”, and it is hilarious to see the coven resist the cliché practice and how it was “Co-opted by the holiday industrial complexAccording to Patti LuPone’s Lilia. That said, it is truly a wonderfully haunting shot of the coven flying in front of a blood moon, bringing to mind classic media with witches like Disney’s Hocus Pocus.

13

Classic witch cackle

Rio lets loose

Rio cackling at Agatha all along episode 5

Unfortunately, the broom’s flight only lasts for so long before the witches’ road forces the coven to turn down. Although this results in a lot of screams, Aubrey Plaza’s Rio delivers a classic witches’ cackleTruly enjoying the thrill as they all plummet to the ground. Clearly, Rio does not seem to fear death (which is likely indicative of Rio’s heavily theorized true identity as Marvel’s Lady Death herself).

12

Summer camp horror vibes

Retainers and all

Running into a cabin and their next trial before the Salem Seven can reach them, Agatha and her coven find themselves transformed once again, just as they have in previous episodes of Agatha all along. However, this time the vibes are full “summer camp horror movie”. Not only are there plenty of scrunchies and headbands to go around, but Zamata’s Jennifer Kale is even wearing a retainer to completely complete the aesthetic.

11

Tin Evokes Billy Kaplan’s Wiccan

Red shirt, blue headband

The new clothes for Joe Locke’s “Teen” are particularly interesting and notable, just as they were when sequences from the episode were first featured in trailers for Agatha all along. Wearing a red shirt and a blue headband, the resemblance and color matching to Billy Kaplan’s Wiccan from Marvel Comics are easy to spot and are more than likely intentional. It also connects with young Billy Maximoff in WandaVision who wears similar colors and a headband for his Halloween costume. As such, it’s a pretty big bet that “Tin” is likely the reincarnated son of the Scarlet Witch.

10

Mrs. Hart

A good impression

in Agatha all along Episode 5, The Coven uses a Ouija board so Agatha can commune with the dead for the Coven’s third trial. However, Harkness initially pretends to be possessed by the ghost of the last wife Hart in Agatha all along Episode 5. Although the impression is not bad, it is quite disrespectful considering Mrs. Hart aka Sharon Davis just recently passed away earlier on the road as seen in Agatha all along Episode 3.

9

“Death is with us”

She is really…

Ouija Board Agatha All Along Episode 5

Use the Ouija board for real, The name “Death” appeared before the covenant and the command that Agatha must be punished. Interestingly enough, it is more than likely that Death herself really was with the coven, assuming the theories are correct and that Aubrey Plaza’s Rio Vidal really is Lady Death herself. There were certainly enough clues and hints in the episodes of Agatha all along So far to suggest as much.

8

An MCU Exorcist homage

Agatha gets possessed

Not long after using the Ouija board and the coven’s debate about whether Agatha should be punished or not, Harkness himself is possessed by a rogue spirit. To this end, your property looks incredibly like the property seen in The Exorcist Movies. The makeup is very similar, as is the way she moves and crawls around the cabin as she tries to kill her fellow witches.

7

Ghosts in the MCU

Evanora Harkness

Eventually, it is revealed that Agatha was possessed by the ghost of her own mother, Evanora Harkness. As it was seen in WandaVision’s Flashback sequences, Agatha killed her mother and her fellow witches in her original coven, stealing all their power for herself. Now, it is revealed that Evanora’s ghost has unfinished business, which wants revenge on her daughter. Likewise, this also appears to be the first appearance of Ghosts in the MCU as a whole.

6

“I can be good”

The same quote from Agatha’s WandaVision flashback

Not wanting her new bond to leave her with her mother’s ghost, Agatha can be heard telling the witches “She can be good” Before Evanora owns her once more. This is the same line that Agatha used to convince her old man not to kill her before she killed them all and stole their power. As such, there is a very dark point of symmetry between covens, especially as the episode ends with at least Alice’s death (if not more).

5

Nicholas Krats

From Beyond The Grave

Tin realizes the spirit of Agatha’s deceased son is also present in the cabin Agatha all along Episode 5. This confirms that the MCU’s Nicholas Scratch is indeed deadRather than an agent of Mephisto as has been speculated in Agatha all along Episode 3. Furthermore, it also confirms that Tin himself is also not Agatha’s son, as initially theorized.

4

Knight of Wands

Lilia references another tarot card

When Alice steps in with her protection magic to try and save Agatha from being possessed by Evanora’s ghost, Lilia says the words “Knight of Wands” out loud. The Knight of Wands is one of a handful of tarot cards that the divination witch has mentioned since Agatha all along Just startedSuch as the “High Priestess” when Lilia first met Jennifer Hale or the “Three of Swords” when Tin was close to death after the end of the second trial of the coven. As such, it will be interesting to learn what the greater significance may be as the show continues, as well as what other cards may be mentioned by Lilia going forward.

3

“As much as your mother”

Billy Maximoff confirmed?

After draining Alice of her power when she tried to end her possession, Harkness shockingly kills the protective witch at the end of Agatha all along Episode 5 Just as she killed her old coven and her mother. Tin in particular confronts Agatha at the end of the episode, telling her that if being a witch means killing people for their own agenda, he doesn’t want to be one. Agatha responds that he is so much like his motherTeasing that Agatha has always known who he is, while further supporting the idea that Tin is really Wiccan, the son of the Scarlet Witch.

2

Tin’s crown

Very Scarlet Witch/Wiccan

In a major twist, Tin displays glowing blue magic of his own. Taking possession of both Lilia and Jennifer, Tin threw Agatha off the witches’ road and into the mud before pushing the other two witches off the road as well. moreover, Agatha all along Episode 5 ends with Tin wearing his very own crown, one that closely resembles the Scarlet Witch’s tiara. As such, it certainly seems like though Agatha all along has finally confirmed that Tin is indeed Billy Kaplan’s Wiccan, the reincarnated son of the Scarlet Witch.

1

“You should see me in a crown” – Billie Eilish

A perfect mic drop

The final shot of Agatha all along Episode 5 is of Tin Wearing His Crown. As such, the episode ends with an epic song for the credits, Billie Eilish’s “You Should See Me in a Crown”. It’s truly the perfect song considering the recent episode of Episodes featuring Teen and his more than likely role as Wiccan, crown and all.
