A small Space Marine 2 cosmetic detail foreshadows just how wild Cheron is

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 It looks like all the expectations the fan base has for him. It faithfully brings the deadly and somewhat strange universe of Warhammer 40k To the video game scene, from its visual details to its enemies, such as the overwhelming numbers of the Tyranid hordes. Most importantly, the game feels like warhammer, With squads of Space Marines constantly calling each other brother while fighting in the name of the Emperor.

Although The main story follows a squadron of UltramarinesThe mascots for the Space Marines and the Warhammer 40k Universe as a whole with their dark blue armor, players can customize their Space Marine to be a part of whatever Chapter they want. Titus, the protagonist of the series, even spends the beginning of the game as a member of the Deathwatch. After all, even after all of his heroic actions, Titus finds himself slightly upstaged by Chiron, a member of his squad. This is something to be expected thanks to a tiny cosmetic detail.

Marksman’s honor decoration foreshadows how deadly Cheron is

And it’s a nice nod to Warhammer 40K Lore

Cheron is one of the Ultramarines under the command of Lieutenant Titus And is one of the stars in Space Marine 2s main story. As expected of any Space Marine, not just an Ultramarine, he is a capable and powerful warrior, cutting quite an imposing figure in his dark blue power armor.

Space Marines themselves are genetically engineered super soldiers who command respect among their allies, giving them the title of Lord, and fear among their enemies, being some of the deadliest warriors in Warhammer 40,000s study.

Even with the constantly tested reputation of Space Marines as dangerous warriors and the Emperor’s Angels of Death, Chiron manages to stand out among the already elite.

This is seen in the early cinematic of the game, Where Chiron appears to have the Marksman’s Honor decoration on the pauldron of his power armor. It should be noted that the Marksman’s Honor would normally hang on a belt or a boltgun, one of the iconic weapons for a Space Marine, but Chiron may have decided to move it for whatever reason.

Even to consider For the marksman’s honor, A Space Marine must have demonstrated a feat of remarkable accuracy with a ranged weapon. An example is given by Primarch Roboute Guiliman as: Striking a chink in a man-sized opponent’s armor at the edge of his weapon’s maximum range.”

This is just one example of how to earn this honor. According to the Codex Astartes, this honor is meant to identify skilled marksmen in a Space Marine Chapter so that their commanders can identify them and use them best in battle.

[Spoilers ahead for the Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 campaign.]

With all the missions that Titus and his team go through, It is clear that they are exceptional among the UltramarinesEspecially with how easily they dispatch Chaos Space Marines, who are meant to be comparable in power to their Imperium of Human counterparts. Chaos Space Marines in PvP are a testament to this.

Titus himself is already the hero who went through all of them Space Marine 1So it makes sense that he has a squad of Ultramarines that can keep pace. Cheron, however, can do much more than just keep pace.

There is a section of the campaign in which players encounter an old ally of Chiron, who gives Titus’ squad a lift in a tank across a bridge. This takes place just before the introduction of the Chaos Space Marines, and they enter by killing Chiron’s ally.

soon after, Charion goes on a rampage, charging the Chaos Space Marine forces alone while separating from the rest of the squadCarving through them with relative ease despite having to fight other Space Marines as well equipped (or at least as relatively well equipped) as him.

While not the most tactically sound idea from Chairon, the fact that he can survive alone against a horde unleashed by the forces of Chaos is extremely impressive. He gets covering fire from the rest of the squad, but they end up busy dealing with enemies of their own most of the time. If Chiron had been less exceptional among the Ultramarines, he would probably have fallen During this sequence, however, thanks to the strength of his rage and his skill, he navigates the situation with relative ease.

Chiron is just like many other Ultramarines in that he follows the Codex Astartes, likes to shoot aliens, and is loyal to the Imperium of Man, Except he’s just better at his job than most. He is an exceptional marksman, thanks to earning his marksman’s honorAnd an unstoppable force when in a blood rage. Despite Titus’ reputation as one of the greatest heroes among the Ultramarines, Chiron manages not to be out-shined by Space Marine 2s protagonist.

Of the two other team members, Chiron remains the most loyal to Titus, remaining loyal to him even after he is falsely branded as a heretic. Gadriel, on the other hand, immediately tries to shoot his commander, and the best part of it all is that the trio gets over it really quickly, as Space Marines tend to do.

Killing heretics and traitors is part of an Ultramarine’s job after all, and Chiron is certainly good at his job. He also commits to his work with a lot of passion as well, which makes him even more of a savage when killing enemies.

Chairon is practically everything most fans love about Space Marines and his inclusion in it Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is a welcome addition to the more straight-headed Gadriel and the returning war hero, Titus. The inclusion of his Marksman’s Honor is also a nice nod to the universe’s lore, and is just one example of all the little details put into the game. It’s the perfect love letter to Warhammer 40,000 fans and is a more than worthy sequel to its predecessor.
