A heat wave leaves New York in a blackout and Spider-Man on patrol as tempers boil across the city. But beneath its sewers and dirty subways lurks a threat unlike anything Peter Parker has ever faced. Introducing "Skinner", a Predator with no honor and no clan - just a thirst for blood.

However, this Predator is unlike any that have appeared in the Marvel Universe so far. Abandoning the Yautja's universal code of honor, “Skinner,” the series' new Predator, craves only the blood and guts of his enemies. That “nightmare counterpoint to big-hearted Parker” is about to do Kraven's Last Hunt looks like child's play.

Marvel forces Spider-Man to face a predator who abandoned the Yautja's strict code of honor

Predator vs. Spider-Man #1 (variant cover), Spider-Man and a Predator face off.

Led by veteran Marvel writer Benjamin Percy and artist Marcelo Ferreira, the next Marvel film Predator vs. Spider-Man miniseries promises powerful combination of creative talentmany of whom have already left their mark on the Predator and Spider-Man franchises. Percy, who wrote both Predator crossovers, expressed his joy in writing Spider-Man for the first time, as he has become a trusted Marvel author in recent years. However, if Wolverine and Black Panther's battle with Yautja is any indicator for this new series, Spider-Man is in for a world of hurt.

Predators like Skinner, who have abandoned this code, become volatile, unpredictable threats who see no reason to back down.

The obvious characteristic that separates

this new predator
The rest is their disrespect for the species' creed. Although different clans establish their own laws of government, there is one main rule that all Yautja must abide by: kill only worthy prey. With this, hunters intend to hunt only prey that can defend itself. Yautja culture is defined by hunting; You have to face your prey equally to prove your own strength. However, Predators like Skinner who have abandoned this code become volatile, unpredictable threats who see no reason to back down.

Marvel's new "Bad Blood" Yautja completely changes the "Predator" lore, managing to make them even more dangerous

Even other predators hate them

This deviation from the species' cultural norms is strictly taboo and represents something greater than just honor. Despite the

Yautja being portrayed as villains
Through the viewer's frame of reference, their society is familiar. Children are raised by the clan and their skills are taught by their “brothers”. These deviant Predators, nicknamed “Bad Bloods,” are shamed for their self-centered actions and promptly executed for their crimes when given the opportunity. Breaking the code means disrespecting the prey, the hunter and the entire clan.

With Spider-Man set to fight a Bad Blood, his opponent will use every resource possible to take down the hero. Skinner, like many of the Bad Bloods, is a psychotic brute unrestrained by something as insignificant as ethics. While

Spider-Man may not be a match
just for the Predator, it looks like he won't be alone. As author Benjamin Percy noted, Kraven the Hunter will make an appearance in this run, hopefully to help the Wall-Crawler. Peter Parker better be prepared to face death, because that Predator is greedy for blood.
