A new character in The Witcher season 4 highlights one of the show’s biggest problems

As Netflix prepares for the fourth season of The wizardMore news about the cast is revealed, but a new character highlights one of the series’ biggest problems and, ironically, will have to continue with this problem to fit into the series. Netflix The wizard got off to a strong start with its first season in 2019, but when its second season arrived, the show received a lot of backlash for the many changes it made to the books, most notably to Yennefer of Vengerbeg (Anya Chalotra), who turned into an antagonist during the most of the season.

Although The wizard Season 3 was an improvement, it continued to make changes that were not well received by fans of the books and video games. Now, The wizard Season 4 presents some of the biggest challenges the series has faced so far, such as the debut of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia and a new Vesemir. Season 4 will also cover some dark storylines and introduce new characters, and one of them is already highlighting one of the series’ biggest problems, but it will have to rely on that to be successful.

According to Redanian Intelligenceamong the characters to be introduced in The wizard season 4 is Nazarian, played by Rowan Polonski. Nazarian is a character in the books and is connected to none other than Riencewho served as an antagonist in The wizard season 2 and 3. In The wizard books, Nazarian, along with Schirrú and Millet, was hired by Rience to attack Codringher and Fenn’s detective agency. This was part of Rience’s efforts to obtain information about Ciri’s whereabouts. After Schirrú killed Codringher, they went down to his workshop.

Nazarian and Schirrú’s purpose was to make the Nilfgaardian Empire think they had the real Ciri.

After Fenn shot Millet in the head, Schirrú incapacitated Fenn and they found notes about Ciri. Schirrú and Nazarian took these notes and set the agency on fire, burning Fenn alive in the process. However, the notes were not about Ciri, but about a girl who looked a lot like her, and so they used this information to track down the fake Ciri. Nazarian and Schirrú’s purpose was to make the Nilfgaardian Empire think they had the real Ciri. Nazarian and Schirrú then traveled to Bruges and kidnapped the fake Ciriwhich they handed over to Godyvron Pitcairn and eventually reached Nilfgaard.

Nazarian and Schirrú’s plan was partially successful, for although she was welcomed into Nilfgaard at first, the White Flame knew that she was not his daughter and sent her to Darn Rowan to be educated by Countess Stella Congreve. Some time later, Nazarian was arrested in Drakenborg by Redanian Intelligence, where he testified.

The Witcher Season 3’s changes left no room for the story from Nazarian’s book

The Witcher made a lot of changes to the books

As mentioned above, The wizard has made a lot of changes to the books since season 2, and this is one of the most criticized things about the series, as well as one of its biggest problems. Although The wizard Season 3 was more faithful to its source material, still making significant changes to some characters, mainly Rience and the fake Ciri. In the books, Rience has a completely different fate and dies in the novel The Swallow Towerand it is Ciri who kills him, not Geralt, as in the TV show.

Ciri lures Leo Bonhart, Stefen Skellen, and Rience to a frozen lake, where Skellen demands that Rience use her fire magic to stop Ciri. Rience reluctantly does so, casting a spell that only half-works and shattering the ice beneath them. Rience falls into the freezing water and clings to the edges of the ice, calling for help. Rience tries and fails to negotiate with Ciri, who cuts his fingers with her ice skates, drowning him. In the Netflix series, Rience is killed by Geralt during the Thanedd Coup. Furthermore, the fake Ciri’s story has also changed.

On Netflix The wizardthe fake Ciri is Teryn, a student from Aretuza kidnapped by Vilgefortz and has been brainwashed into believing that she is Ciri. Despite Geralt’s efforts, Teryn finally managed to reach Nilfgaard, where she was welcomed by the White Flame as its Queen. With the death of Rience and the fake Ciri already in Nilfgaard, Netflix The wizard didn’t leave room for Nazarian, and so the show will have to rely on its biggest problem to make him fit.

How Nazarian Could Fit Into The Witcher Season 4

The Witcher Season 4 Could Make More Changes for Rience’s Benefit

The Witcher season 3 Rience and Ciri

Due to the changes The wizard did for the books, season 4 will have to do more to make Nazarian fit into its story. Without Rience and the fake Ciri now with the Emperor and with a very different backstory, the best way for Nazarian to fit into the show is by giving him the role of Riencewith the necessary changes. Nazarian could be one of the main antagonists in The wizard seasons 4 and 5, continuing Rience’s search for Ciri, which means he, too, is doomed to a horrible (but probably deserved) death.
