But Bond is such an iconic property that any actor who appears in one of its films will forever be associated with it. Connery essentially played an older Bond in The rockdirected by Michael Bay. Roger Moore played the self-parodic 007-style role of Seymour Goldfarb in the cast of the car chase comedy The cannonball race. There are many excellent action films starring Bond actors. An upcoming spy film is filled with former Bond actors and aspiring Bond actors.

Scheduled to be released in theaters on March 14, 2025, Black Bag is a new spy thriller about a husband and wife team of secret agents. When the wife is accused of betraying the nation, the husband has to choose between loyalty to his beloved wife and loyalty to his beloved country. The stars of the film a former Bond actor, Pierce Brosnan; a former Moneypenny actor, Naomie Harris; and two popular choices for the role of 007, Michael Fassbender and Regé-Jean Page.
The cast also features great actors such as Cate Blanchett, Tom Burke and Marisa Abela, best known for her recent performance as Amy Winehouse in the biopic. Back to black. So, it has a pretty impressive ensemble, full of veteran film legends and rising stars. Black Bag is being directed by Ocean's ElevenSteven Soderbergh (who is also filming and editing the film under the pseudonyms Peter Andrews and Mary Ann Bernard, respectively) of a script Jurassic ParkDavid Koepp.

Black Bag feels like a very different take on the spy genre. It will be a darker, grittier and decidedly more realistic spy film in which loyalty is tested and intelligence officers face dire consequences for violating the rules. Black Bag it may have some Bond alumni, but the Bond similarities will end there.
Black Bag is a thriller directed by Steven Soderbergh from Focus Features. Cate Blanchett, Michael Fassbender, Regé Jean Page and Marisa Abela lead the cast, along with Naomie Harris, Pierce Brosnan and Tom Burke. The story, currently under wraps, was written by David Koepp.
