A forgotten Disney movie released 17 years ago may be one of the studio’s all-time best

In 2007, Disney released an incredibly emotional and touching story that seems to be buried in the past, but Meet the Robinsons deserves more recognition. Stephen J. Anderson is one of the most notable creative leaders at Disney today, with his influence extending into some of the most wonderful stories of all of Disney. He worked on Great hero 6, Zootropolis, MoanaAnd Frozen 2Helping shape the stories and pack them with emotion.

However, he was also the director of a number of projects that failed to receive the recognition they deserve, despite some of the Best stories ever to appear in a Disney film. More than a classic Disney princess, or a simple underdog hero fighting an unsavory villain, his stories contain complexity and emotion that resonates with a young audience, but for one reason or another, they don’t get more attention.

Disney Meet the Robinsons isn’t talked about enough for how good it is

Meet The Robinsons is a spectacular family film

Speaking of spectacular stories, Meet the Robinsons Is one of Disney’s best of all time. The Film is loosely based on a 1990 novel, A day with Wilbur RobinsonWhich features a few of the same unique characters, but it builds an incredible story that takes place over two different moments in time, and beautifully interweaves the characters. When young Lewis, an orphan with remarkable intelligence, meets a strange boy who claims to be from the future, things quickly get messy. Although the story features a lot of elements and ups and downs, the narrative is incredibly well-crafted.

The film sees the central characters learn to embrace their uniqueness, “keep moving forward” in the face of failure and disappointment, and now make good choices that will have significant consequences in the future. As a family film, Meet the Robinsons Contains excellent lessons for younger viewersAnd for adults who may feel stressed, overwhelmed or bogged down by their lives, it shows that it’s never too late to take another step forward.

Meet the incredibly moving story of the Robinson’s animation

The animation is touch and go in Meet the Robinsons

The one element that could be singled out as a potential reason for the films lack of success could be the animation. in 2007, CGI is still in its early stagesAnd unlike the invisible animated style of Toy StoryWhich appears to come across as more of a feature than a quirk, Meet the Robinsons came in the middle of the renaissance. The style wasn’t as good as it could have been at the time, and it wasn’t unique enough, or impressive enough to make it standout.

While Disney’s 2D classic films had an authentic hand-drawn style that made them brilliant, and the latest 3D movies have advanced enough that they feel magical, Meet the Robinsons Came at a strange moment. However, when you look past the strange animation, the story is creative enough and emotional in a way that it is easy to be immersed in. So, despite any minor criticisms of Meet the Robinsons Animation style, the movie remains one of the absolute best that Disney has ever made, and the movie deserves significantly more recognition.

Meet the Robinsons follows Lewis, a young inventor determined to find his birth mother. His journey takes a turn when a mysterious boy named Wilbur Robinson whisks him away to the future. Together, they face adventures and challenges that ultimately lead Lewis to discover the meaning of family and his place in the world. The animated film explores themes of innovation, belonging and the importance of moving forward.
