Animal Crossing I’ve seen my fair share of cosplays over the years, but one fan’s rendition of Isabelle and Tom Nook is more high fashion than costumes. Both characters have been staples of the series and are instantly recognizable to any fan due to their unique designs.
Forever Happy Isabelle is a yellow dog character based on the Shih Tzu breed, and businessman Tom Nook is based on the Japanese raccoon dog Tanuki. It seems that it would be difficult to recognize these two without their animal elements, but Mayalcaulfield on Reddit I found a way to depict them in human form.
A Redditor shares two real-life outfits based on Isabelle and Tom Nook. Isabelle has her signature orange jacket and green skirt, and has blonde hair with a bun at the top and ponytails on the sides to symbolize her ears. Their version of Tom Nook wears khaki dress pants, a white shirt with a red tie, and a green vest over it. Although none of them use animal characteristics, both are beautiful images of the beloved Animal Crossing characters.
How Disneybounding Influenced Animal Crossing Fashion
It is clear which characters are depicted
Mayalcaulfield’s creations are less cosplay and more Animal Crossing-inspired fashion. At a glance, it’s clear which characters the Redditor was inspired by, thanks to colors, items of clothing, hair and even poses. Although they don’t mention it in the message, these Animal Crossing the outfits are reminiscent of Disneybounding.
Connected
The practice of Disneybounding involves dressing up in clothing inspired by recognizable Disney characters, which began with Disney not allowing visitors to visit its Disneyland and Disney World in costume. Instead, fans use casual clothing to “dress up” as their favorite character without breaking Disney rules. Mayalcaulfields Animal Crossing photographs have the same idea, creating a recognizable image without having to wear a full suit.
We’d love to see more Animal Crossing style fashion
Why hasn’t a real fashion crossover happened yet?
Animal Crossing he has so many adorable outfits and I’ve seen several YouTubers recreate their characters’ in-game outfits in real life. However, There hasn’t been an official collaboration between Nintendo and an actual clothing brand yet. (at least as far as I can tell from my research).
Companies like Pokemon I often collaborate with fashion brands, and I’m sure Animal Crossing fans would love to have some of their gamewear as well. It looks like that won’t happen as Nintendo prepares for its next release. Animal Crossing title.
