Superman & Lois has put Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) through the ringer. In just 4 seasons, this iteration of the plucky journalist has experienced more tragedy than most iterations of the character. Sure, being married to Superman is hard, but the series continues to inflict tragedy after tragedy on Lois. From cancer to family drama to the loss of multiple loved ones in rapid succession, the poor woman is the punching back of the show. Now that Superman & Lois has reached its end, I sincerely hope that Lois is given a satisfying conclusion.
With only 7 episodes left in the final season of the CW series, I’m worried she’s going to have to go through worse before things start looking up. The season has been explosive so far, with some truly wild moments including the death of Superman himself. That’s right; DC killed off the show’s title character. Lois is left to pick up the pieces, and I’m left thinking the writers must be pulling my leg. Regardless, this is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of what Lois has been through Superman & Lois.
Superman and Lois have consistently given Lois Lane the saddest storylines season after season
Lewis Lane can’t catch a break
One such example of how Superman & Lois Gives the last character the most depressing stories is the treatment of Lucy Lane, her sister. Jenna Dewan reprises the role of Lucy, after playing her on SupergirlAlthough the iteration of the character is very different. Before the start of the series, Lois and Lucy had a falling out over the former exposing cult leader Ally Allston. Lucy believed in Ally so much that she took drastic actions such as swallowing a bottle of pills and cutting Louis completely. She re-enters Lois’ life in season 2.
Unfortunately, she was still part of Ally’s cult and only wanted to discredit Lois. throughout the season, Lucy betrays Lois over and over again. She only saw reason after Ally attacked her father, Sam Lane, in order to force Superman to appear. Lois tried in vain to reach Lucy before things got that far, but the younger Lane was also enthralled with Ally’s false promises to care.
Just one season later, Lois thinks she is pregnant with her third child, only to be diagnosed with stage three inflammatory breast cancer. While the comic “Superman & Batman: Generations” has a similar storyline, Superman & Lois Really delves into how she is affected by the disease. For example, she experiences denial and keeps trying to chase a lead instead of going to her chemotherapy treatments.

Lois gets a lot of focus in season 3, and her illness presents a unique challenge to her family because Clark can’t just beat cancer. Although the series has been accused of “freezing” her because of the focus on Clark’s reaction, her character is given space to experience her emotions independently of her husband. Ultimately, Lois finishes her treatment, undergoes breast surgery and survives.
Superman & Lois Season 4 Amp Ups The Tragedies of Lois Lane Astronomically
Lois loses two of the most important people in her life
You’d think that after her illness and recovery, Lois earned a respite, however The writer of Superman & Lois Would beg to differ. Season 4 continues to heap more tragedy on Lois and her sons, and I can’t help but feel sorry for her. The previous season ended on a cliffhanger as Superman and Doomsday were locked in battle. Unfortunately, the latter emerges victorious, and he rips Clark’s heart out of his body. Doomsday delivers the heart to Lex Luthor.
Initially, Lex appears to be preserving Superman’s heart in order to experiment with his Kryptonian DNA. however, After Lois and Clark’s son Jordan attempts to retrieve the heart, Lex brutally stomps on it. The loss of her husband is devastating enough, however Superman & Lois Doubled down in the most tragic fashion.
After he was shot for standing up to Lex, Sam decides to inject himself with Clark’s bloodwho was saved for a possible human master. He was then also killed by Doomsday. His sacrifice is noble, no doubt about it, but now even if Clark returns, Lois has lost her father. Furthermore, she has to live with the knowledge that Sam died to save her husband. It’s truly heart-wrenching, and for that reason, Lois may actually be Lex’s biggest victim.
Lois Lane needs a happy ending to her Superman and Lois storyline
DC, may Lois be happy
Superman & Lois Had a few episodes to tie up loose ends and most likely bring back the Man of Steel. I really hope that’s what happens, not even because I care about Clark. I do, but I also just want Lois Lane to be happy for the first time in literally years. Based on what little we know about how Superman & Lois Will end, the series will undoubtedly have a climactic – and hopefully cathartic – resolution.

Superman & LoisThe seventh Arrowverse spinoff series, will take the titular characters from Metropolis to Smallville. The CW series is set in the aftermath of the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover, which saw the collapse of the multiverse and the merging of worlds into what is now Earth Prime. Superman & Lois Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) and Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin) deal with all the pressures of their jobs, along with being parents to two teenage sons. Lois and Clark are no strangers to the Arrowverse, with Hoeklin’s Superman being introduced all the way back in Supergirl Season 2. Meanwhile, Tulloch’s Lois made her debut in the 2018 “Elseworlds” crossover. The duo is joined by a growing cast of characters that includes a new iteration of Lana Lang.
