New details of the latest MCU series Agatha all along Help to explain the end of WandaVisionAnd to provide the villainous motivations of the Scarlet Witch with a much greater explanation. Episode 6 of Agatha all along spent much of its runtime exploring the backstory of William Kaplan and Provided an engaging explanation for how Tin could be Wanda Maximoff’s son. This was done through incredible action and story details that integrated perfectly with these WandaVision Series.
The identity of teen in Agatha has been revealed, although it appears that the implications of this are huge and are still being dealt with. The last episode of the series shown William Kaplan, a boy from Eastview, gets into a car accident and is taken over by the soul of Billy Maximoff. The event raised even more questions than it answered. However, it also recontextualized a notable scene from WandaVision Which affected the whole plot of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Scarlet Witch really felt Billy and Tommy’s souls
Billy and Tommy’s souls are shown to have escaped the witch
The end of WandaVision Saw the voices of Billy and Tommy calling out to their mother. This led to the multiversal events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessAlthough these New details of Agatha Suggest that Wanda’s sons are still in her original universe, waiting to be found. Billy’s soul found William’s body, and some part of him was calling out for Wanda, leading to the Scarlet Witch’s ending in that series. She really felt the souls of her children.
All of this raises the question of where is Tommy in the MCU. If Billy’s soul could have been bound to another body, it seems likely that Tommy would have done so as well. While their souls are constructed from Wanda’s chaos magic, it appears that they have taken on their own lives. It seems likely now that Billy is looking for his brother on the Witches’ Road, and that this will be a major story point in the rest of the series.
Are both Billy and Tommy bound by sigils?
The latest Agatha episode makes this likely
In the last episode, Patti Lupone’s Lilia is shown to have placed the seal on William, preventing him from being able to reveal his identity to the coven. This was an interesting scene because it happened before Billy took over William’s body. This suggests that perhaps there was a bigger plan for Wanda’s children. Sigils may be placed on both of the boys, or on both of the bodies that each of the two is intended to inhabit.
William’s car crash near the hex seemed to be a lucky accident, although the scene suggests that there may have been a greater intentionality behind this event. If Billy had a seal placed on him, Tommy probably could have too. This would explain why Scarlet Witch is unable to find her children in her universe, as knowledge of them would be blocked by the seals, What sent her to look for her sons in other worlds.
We now know why Scarlet Witch was so desperate to find her children
Billy Maximoff is alive in the MCU, and Tommy likely is too
Scarlet Witch’s search for her children across the multiverse seemed to come from a place of despair after losing everything that was important to her. Although this is still part of the truth, Billie’s existence in the MCU shows that there were much larger and more realistic motivations behind her actions. Wanda could hear her sons calling her in her own universe, and she knew she had to find them. She couldn’t get these real voices out of her head, and it drove her crazy.
None of this excuses Wanda’s actions, or changes the reality of Wanda’s status in the MCU. However, this important context helped to explain Wanda’s motivations better. With Billy being alive in the universe but unable to reach his mother due to the sigil, Wanda would be driven to despair in an attempt to save and treat her children. As far as Wanda knows, they are still young, alive, and need their help.
