A clip from Cross Shows the titular character using the words of William Shakespeare while interrogating a suspect. Black Adam Star Aldis Hodges plays Alex Cross In the upcoming Prime Video show based on James Patterson Alex Cross Novels that have continued to be popular since the first installment was published in 1993. CrossThe cast also includes Isaiah Mustafa as Detective John Sampson, Samantha Walkes as El Monteiro, Alona Tal as Kayla Craig, and Eloise Mumford as Shannon Whitmer.
Prime Video has shared the first clip of the series which Showcases Cross using lines from Shakespeare’s Macbeth To obtain a confession from a suspect in an interrogationAs well as new images of the supporting cast. Check out the clip and images below:
In the clip, the suspect can be seen initially smoking and trying to prove that Cross will never get into his head, and he will not get a confession. The smugness quickly fades when Cross explains how a phrase the suspect used connects to Macbeth and proves his guilt. Those watching through the interrogation glass are equally entertained and impressed by Cross’ work.
What this clip means for cross
His detective skills are unparalleled
The clip demonstrates Cross’ formidable intelligence and his ability to make meaningful connections based on limited information. He is not an average detective who will be seen just chasing suspects in every episode. He uses his rare insights, his education and background in forensic psychology to best understand those he is pursuing and interrogating. Cross is a man of many talents, and criminals will have a hard time proving their innocence when he is able to see the truth about them.
There is a playfulness to it all that can help create Cross A great detective show, but this attitude also makes Cross overconfident, and this may backfire as the show progresses.
There is also a performative nature to the interrogation in the clipMit Cross even acknowledges that he already has everything he needs to prove the suspect’s guilt, but he goes through it anyway to entertain himself. This is not only for his amusement, but for the amusement of his partners who are watching the interrogation. There is a playfulness to it all that can help create Cross A great detective show, but this attitude also makes Cross overconfident, and this may backfire as the show progresses.
Our names on the cross clip
This is an improvement on past adaptations
The interrogation scene does an effective job of showing how cunning Cross can be and how he relishes being able to see the full picture. The more analytical and charismatic version of the character feels much more faithful to Patterson’s novels than the 2012 Alex Cross Movie starring Taylor Perry. Hodges already seems to be a fitting casting choice for the eponymous characterAnd the clip leaves me wanting to see more of what he has in store when Cross Debut on Prime Video.
