Why the “Anghkooey” kids return to Tabitha starting in Season 3, Episode 6

Warning: There are spoilers ahead for Season 3, Episode 6 onwards.Of season 3, episode 6, “Scar Tissue” features the return of the “anghkooey” children. Tabitha Matthews (Catalina Sandino Moreno) saw the kids for the first time in Season 2 and although she was scared of them, she later tried to help when she went to the lighthouse during Of season 2 finale. She seemingly escaped the city after the Boy in White pushed her out of the lighthouse, but now she finds herself in the city once again, reunited with her family and totally trapped again.

“Scar Tissue” marks the first appearance of “anghkooey” children in Of season 3. When Tabitha is in the kitchen with her son, Ethan Matthews (Simon Webster), she hears a noise coming from above. When she goes to investigate, she discovers the children, who emerge from closed doors and climb the stairs, while menacingly chanting their favorite word – “anghkooey.” This meeting raises the question of why the children returned to Tabithaalong with what it means for the rest Ofcast of characters.

Just as Miranda had visions of the City and was apparently brought there on purpose, this also appears to be true for Tabitha, as she had nightmares about Ofwooden statues and red stones since I was a child. Miranda and Tabitha were apparently brought to the city to save the “anghkooey” children or to complete an important task that involves children. Regardless of what Tabitha’s task is, it remains unfinished and the children are there to remind Tabitha of this.

Even if she still doesn’t know what the word is “anghkooey” is and doesn’t know exactly what her children want from her, Tabitha understands that she hasn’t helped them yet. When she sees her children at her house, she points out that she tried to help them and is scared because she knows that she failed them and that they still need her. Tabitha will likely continue to see the children intermittently until she completes the task she must complete in the City.

Tabitha and Jade’s partnership is the best chance to solve the children’s mystery

They share an understanding that no one else has

After seeing her children, Tabitha understandably wants to leave the house and goes with Ethan to see Jade (David Alpay). He is as committed to unlocking the City’s secrets as Tabitha, and Jade even saw the “anghkooey” children when he entered the tunnels in Of 2nd season. They were in a circle under the mysterious symbol that Jade sees, and when he looked beneath the symbol, they had disappeared, just like they do every time Tabitha sees them.

The value of their partnership is already evident at the end of “Scar Tissue,” as their interactions lead Tabitha to realize that she saw the city in her nightmares when she was a child.

The symbol and the children are clearly connected, and The more Jade and Tabitha share with each other about their respective visions and various discoveries, the closer they will come to learning the truth..
