Wizards beyond Waverly Place Star and executive producer David Henrie addresses the major Justin and Juliet question created by the spinoff. Debuting on Disney Channel on October 29 and streaming on Disney+ a day later, Wizards beyond Waverly Place will see Henrie reprise the role of Justin Russo. He does his best to live a normal life with his family, which changes when his sister Alex Russo (Selena Gomez) shows up with a young wizard who needs training. The premise allows the immortal Juliet Van Heusen (Bridgit Mendler), who developed a relationship with Justin.
During a recent press junket for the Waverly Place spinach, ScreenRantEnrie asked Rachel Paerch Does the upcoming series plan to touch on what happened between Justin and Juliet. In a candid response, Henrie talked about the responsibility of balancing different aspects of the Disney show. The actor and executive producer also said that They want as many of the original cast to return as possibleProvided that schedules allowed for it. Henry ends by saying that it would be fun for Justin’s wife to learn more about his past:
This is a great question. Part of our responsibility, as the team that makes this show, is to balance all these elements, right? Because I think every fan has different elements that they appreciate about the show. So it’s like, “How do you balance that, but at the same time, create a whole new show and make some of these things work organically in the show?” So that’s a big question, and we have a lot of episodes to get to work like that.
We definitely want as many of the original cast to come back as possible. If their schedules allow it, we definitely want them in the show, but it’s about bringing them back in a way that pushes the story forward and doesn’t just feel like an obligatory appearance because fans wouldn’t like that as much as anything. So I think it would be a very fun episode at some point for my wife on the show to learn about my past. At some point, I’m sure we’ll definitely dive into that, but in the first season, there’s a lot that they’re learning and adjusting to, so we have to tease things out slowly.
Justin’s life took a different path
It is unclear why Justin and Juliet broke up. In the upcoming spinoff, Justin is married to a new character named Giada. Portrayed by Mimi Gianopulos, Giada is a mortal. She has two kids with Justin, named Milo and Roman. Their lives are changed when Alex arrives with the young wizard Billy (Janice Leanne Brown). The premise of the new show is that Justin is trying to have a normal family life, which could be complicated if he were married to the vampire Juliet.

Wizards beyond Waverly Place Takes off.
Our take on Juliet’s potential return
Give the spinoff time
The team behind the spinoff, which includes writers and executive producers Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas along with fellow EPs Gary Marsh, Gomez and Henrie, have a tough job. Reading between the lines of Henrie’s response about Juliet, it sounds like the spinoff wants to establish itself and the new cast before bringing back more actors from the original.
That’s understandable, with the spinoff’s ensemble also featuring newcomers like Alkaio Thiele, Max Matenko, and Taylor Cora, in addition to bringing back both David DeLuise and Jake T. Austin as Jerry and Max Russo, respectively. Wizards beyond Waverly Place Will probably have more room to address the site if it is renewed and goes on for a few seasons.
