The campaign of more than 80 hours in Metaphor: ReFantazio is packed with challenging bosses to beat, and Homo Pento is no different. Found during Malnova tests mission in the Land of Ceremony, this creepy faceless head on two legs and a sword for a nose can be a surprisingly demanding boss for those who aren’t prepared or haven’t spent much time leveling up their party. However, victory is achievable with the right combination of party members with Archetypes that can attack a specific weakness and ignore its resistance, so you can continue your journey soon.
By the time you reach Ceremony Land, you will have unlocked several Archetypes that can be assigned to the various available party members, making choosing the right arrangement a bit difficult. However, there is a combination of archetypes with specific abilities that are better than others, but putting together the best strategy to thwart this tricky boss is based on the skills you’ve practiced in the JRPG so far. It’s certainly more difficult than learning by passing the Courage test, but the effort made is definitely worth it.
How to prepare for Homo Pento
Make sure you are at the right level
When you come across the Homo Pento boss in Metaphor: ReFantaziowill be at level 50, so each party member will need to be at least level 42 to land adequate blows without having their HP depleted quickly. However, Level 45 and higher would be a stronger guarantee of success. If you think your team is underleveled, follow the essential methods to farm EXP and MAG quickly in Metaphor: ReFantazio to bring your squad of colorful characters up to extra HP and higher stats.
Homo Pento also summons an aptly named Summon Knight Skeleton that will fight you as well, meaning you have several enemies to defeat in this particular boss fight. To give your team a little more survivability, take advantage of the last bit of time you can explore before the mission and purchase the latest armor from stores to equip your team. Having the latest defensive and evasive stats will help your team hold up and avoid further punishment in the thick of battle.
Use Inheritance to have at least one Archetype learn a group healing skill like Medica to replenish your party’s abilities during battle.
Best party combo to beat Homo Pento
Fire all around
Metaphor: ReFantazio’s best combination of characters and archetypes includes the protagonist as a wizard, Hulkenberg as another wizard, and Junah as a masked dancer. Eupha will be a party member by default with the Summoner Archetype, which works as her recovery ability, Summon Noctiluca, can cure status ailments for allies along with some supplemental HP recovery. This combination of Archetypes allows you to target Homo Pento’s weakness to Fire-type magical attacks, as the Mage Archetype knows the Fire ability, Botra, while the Masked Dancer starts with Hellish Vortex and learns Crimson Flame at level 20.
This group’s real strength in defeating Homo Pento, however, is the Boatona Synthesis ability, which inflicts Heavy Fire magic damage on an enemy. Both Mages can use this to increase damage regularly. Meanwhile, the Summoner Archetype can use the presence of the Mages and Masked Dancer with its own Synthesis ability, Summon Dragon God. This deals severe magical fire damage to all enemies and removes any buff effects. This will be the most powerful move in your arsenal during the boss fight, so using it should be the priority.
How to defeat Homo Pento
Light them up
To win the Homo Pento boss fight in Metaphor: ReFantazio in all, continually use your pair of Mages, Masked Dancer, and Summoner to target your weakness with fire attacksboth basic skills and synthesis skills. THE Summon Knight Skeleton is weak to light attacksso make sure your Wizards or Masked Dancers learn any such skill through the Inheritance system. You should also avoid using Wind abilities at any cost, as Homo Pento can repel them.
The boss can also inflict Hex with its Curse Chant attack. This can be cured with Summoner’s Summon Noctiluca or whatever else you want to try of all Metaphor: ReFantazioArchetypes. Remember to target Homo Pinto’s weakness to Fire and summon the Skeleton Knight to light, and victory in this boss fight will be yours.
