Swallowed by the maw of an Elder Whale, removed from his conflict with Kailani, an old friend turned usurper, Namor travels to the depths of the ocean where light does not reach. Past impenetrable walls of jellyfish, ancient krakens and reaching the point where all the oceans meet, Namor discovers a new contender:

. The Beast King, a monstrous humanoid amalgam of coral and seaweed, calls the once king an ignorant tumor, destined to fall. Namor is surprised, admitting that even he was unconscious of the lowest realm of the sea.

Namor’s rule as king
he mocked the inhabitants of the land for cruelly mistreating the people of the ocean. Throughout the character’s entire existence, he has been defined by his burning hatred for the ignorant irresponsibility that the world above has subjected the sea dwellers to, and the Beast King calls out Namor for his ridiculous hypocrisy. Namor is forced to face the idea that he forced the cruelty of the inhabitants of the land on the creatures of the sea below the sea.

The Beast King quickly proves
how little Namor really understands
over the ocean, that he is a false king of the land he so often condemns. Practically imitating every battle cry Namor has ever given the earthwalkers, the Beast King advances. “You hunt us. You enslave us as yours war machines. No more, say we, the Beasts. Namor always assumed his way was the only way. Supported by the Sea Father, the Olympian god Neptune, Namor believed his rule was infallible. Already humiliated by those on land, Dating now it has to recognize its failures at sea.
