Details about Daredevil: Born Again, have been revealed, with news about the MCU show, release information and more. The original Daredevil TV series premiered on Netflix in 2015 and followed Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) as he learned to balance his life as a lawyer and as Daredevil. This was followed by two more seasons before being abruptly canceled in 2018 – which was a surprise, as the show had a high viewership and was critically acclaimed. Eventually, the series was brought on the Disney + streaming platform as the rights were reverted back to Marvel, which then Did the MCU have a chance to create Daredevil: Born Again.
It was clearly a commitment to Cox’s version of Daredevil as Murdock began to appear in MCU properties in small roles, such as Spider-Man: No Way Home. Murdock cameos as Peter Parker and Happy Hogan’s lawyer. The lawyer continued his legal duties in two episodes of She-Hulk: LawyerShane is a romantic interest and friend to Jennifer Walters. Vincent D’Onofrio also reprized his role as Kingpin in the Disney+ series Hawkeye. The cameos all but ensured that the Daredevil: Born Again Cast will have some interesting appearances and will be a significant part of the MCU timeline overall.
Daredevil: Born Again will not be a continuation of the Netflix series
While the main characters of the Netflix series are coming back, the show will not have a season 4 of Daredevil. instead, Daredevil: Born Again Will be its own thing and something of a soft reboot. This will be similar to how The Suicide Squad (2021) used characters and actors from Suicide Squad (2016) to tell a story that ignores the plot of the previous films while retaining some of the personalities and ideas.
However, it seems that the MCU will still use storylines from the Daredevil series. Echo Show that Kingpin has retained the same story from the Netflix show, and Bullseye’s reappearance similarly suggests that the franchise will use his arc in the Netflix original Daredevil Series. As such, it seems that the MCU will take elements from the Netflix study, and not strictly keep everything exactly identical to it.

The Daredevil: Born Again The cast has many exciting additions, but perhaps none as exciting as the main stars, Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, who will return as Daredevil and Kingpin, respectively. The duo are by far the only Netflix show characters set to return in the series, as – after initially being revealed not to be in the new show or the MCU – Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll have also been shown reprising their roles as Foggy and Karen in The upcoming release.
Marvel’s Netflix show iteration of The Punisher is also set to be reprized by Jon Bernthal, and – in one of the more unexpected workshop reveals for Daredevil: Born Again – Wilson Bethel will return as Benjamin Poindexter, allowing him to capitalize on the story of the original show, which saw him seemingly become Bullseye in the last leg of the overall series. Although the character of Vanessa Fisk will also recur on the show, she will instead be played by Sadrine Holt, instead of the previous casting that saw Ayelet Zurer play the role throughout all three seasons of Daredevil.
The new additions to the Daredevil: Born Again Cast are also disappointingly promising. The son of The Many Saints of Newark And late legendary actor James Gandolfini is also joining Daredevil: Born Again cast, and while Michael Gandolfini’s character has yet to be disclosed, his early attachment to the project could mean it’s a significant role.
According to Term, severances Nikki James was also recently announced as attached to the show in an undisclosed role. Genneya Walton was another addition to the cast in recent months, with reports that her character is a journalist leading to theories about who she will be related to. DaredevilS Ben Ulrich.

echo s The ending teased the storyline by showing Kingpin getting ready to try to become mayor of New York City. One particular must hint at that Daredevil: Born Again It could be about the title, because there is a 1986 comic book arc for Daredevil called “Born Again”. Some elements of the arc have been adapted for the Netflix series, so Disney showrunners may be interested in the continuation, although whether the comic story will be part of the MCU series is currently unconfirmed.
The comic series details Murdock’s personal and professional destruction at the hands of the Kingpin, and then tracks how he gets his life back to normal. This would be a down-to-earth plot that would also give the Disney+ series the opportunity to portray an origin story in a different way, while also ensuring audiences don’t feel like its initial show origins were rewritten for the MCU.
Daredevil: Born Again Trailer Descriptions
While the general public could not yet see a Daredevil: Born Again Trailer, exclusive footage has been unveiled more than once now, with the New York Comic Con providing the latest look at the upcoming MCU series. The trailer features a range of familiar and new faces, showing Daredevil and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher arguing, the return of Karen Page and Foggy Nelson, and Benjamin Poindexter – perhaps better known as Bullseye – being held in prison.
The footage also gave audiences a look at five different Daredevil masks, suggesting some exciting costume reveals could be in store for fans, and revealed that the Marvel villain’s muse will be featured in the Born again History. Muse’s powers make him nearly impossible to watch—and because he’s a twisted serial killer dedicated to his “art”—the character is sure to be an extremely fascinating addition to the series and the larger MCU.
Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk also have a conversation in the preview. As covered by Comic Book MovieThe interaction sees Fisk telling the lawyer that, “Sometimes you have to break the peace. Chaos must reign.”With Murdock responding by telling Kingpin, “It seems like we really understand each other, so if you step out of line, I’ll be there.” This further supports the idea that the story will see how Daredevil tries to stop Kingpin’s attempt to become mayor, because the conversation makes sense if this is the context in which they are speaking.
A teaser trailer was also shown at the Disney Upfront event in May 2024. According to IGNs Daredevil: Born Again Preview Footage Description The teaser begins with the MCU hero in his Daredevil suit as his voice narrates the footage, stating that, “The whole system is against you… it’s often Davis vs. Goliath.” Kingpin, Foggy and Karen are shown, and the footage switches to an action sequence.
At the end of the teaser, Matt Murdock is asked, “What kind of lawyer are you?“and responds by saying”A good one indeed”, which is a direct nod to his appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home. This teaser is basically the same one that was seen at New York Comic Con. Hopefully, the teaser can be officially released sometime soon, allowing audiences their first tangible glimpse of the show’s footage and thus their first real idea of what to expect from the show going forward – which would be major, given the level of hype for the series and the reboot of Charlie Cox’s iconic iteration of Daredevil already.
A couple of exciting inclusions in the New York Comic Con trailer is the character White Tiger officially confirmed to appear in the series. White Tiger is another vigilante who works in New York City and his inclusion in the MCU has been a long time coming. It is also confirmed that Wilson Fisk knows that Matt Murdock is Daredevil.
As it stands, however, it looks like the focus has been placed on connecting the Netflix Marvel characters to the MCU more through the show, which sets a promising precedent for the series. Although the show has also reportedly reduced the amount of time Matt Murdock will be working as a lawyer and not a superhero during the series, the teaser also suggests that it will still be a focal element of his season 1 story at points, Blending his civilian. And vigilante career further together.
After Charlie Cox’s cameo appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home and supporting role in She-Hulk: Lawyer at Law, Daredevil: Born Again gives Matt Murdoch his first show set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Consisting of 18 episodes, Daredevil: Born Again serves as the spiritual successor to Netflix’s three-season Daredevil series and adapts its characters to the MCU’s main continuity while establishing a new beginning for the superhero advocate.
