in The Mandalorian, Ahsoka Tano Made her shocking live-action Star Wars Debut while on the hunt for the Grand Admiral Throne, but how long is she really looking for it? The Mandalorian was a critical addition to Star Wars Movies and TV shows, as it has not only become one of Star Wars Best TV shows but also signaled a massive turning point in the franchise. The Mandalorian Kicks off a focus on the New Republic timeline that continues even now, and it introduces a number of key characters.
One such character was Morgan Elsbeth, who was introduced in The Mandalorian As a magistrate on the planet Corvus. It was on Corvus that Ahsoka met Dean Djarin for the first time and revealed her intentions on the planet: to find Thrawn. The exact details surrounding the hunt for Thrawn remain somewhat mysterious, however, and relate not only to The Mandalorian But also to Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars: Tales of the EmpireAnd Ahsoka.
Star Wars hasn’t revealed much about Ahsoka’s quest for the throne yet
Meanwhile, Little is known about Ahsoka’s search for Thrawn. When Ahsoka confronted Morgan Elsbeth in The MandalorianShe made her intentions quite known by asking Morgan, “Where is your master? Where is the Grand Admiral Throne?” It’s clear that Ahsoka followed a trail that led her to Morgan, who actually has history with Thrawn. Tales of the Empire Revealing that Morgan was working for the Empire and had direct contact with Thrawn, in fact.
Tales of the Empire revealed that Morgan had been working for the Empire and had direct contact with Thrawn.
The Rebels Finale also hinted that Ahsoka’s story was headed in that direction, as the show’s epilogue saw Ahsoka reunite with Sabine Wren and agree to search for Ezra together. As Ezra disappeared along with Thrawn, the two searches are completely connected (And it’s possible Ahsoka was much more invested in finding Thrawn than Ezra, not because she didn’t care about Ezra but because Thrawn was such a massive threat). It was not until the Ahsoka Show that the result of the search is finally confirmed.

Ahsoka likely began her quest after breaking up with Sabine Wren
in the Ahsoka show, not only was Thrawn finally found (as was Ezra) on Peridea, but additional details were revealed about Ahsoka and Sabine’s complex dynamic, which had direct implications for Ahsoka’s hunt for Thrawn. Following RebelsAhsoka surprisingly took Sabine as a Jedi apprentice, despite there being little indication that Sabine is Force-sensitive in the show. Unfortunately, the two had a massive falling out, and Sabine’s Jedi training was put on hiatus.
It is likely that Ahsoka sought out Thrawn during this periodAfter the dissolution of her master and apprentice relationship with Sabine. Ahsoka obviously struck out on her own after the fallout, because she was working alone The Mandalorian. With her ‘failed’ attempt to train a Padawan behind her, Ahsoka must have redoubled her efforts to track down and stop Thrawn. It is possible Ahsoka Season 2 will reveal more about that quest, but, for now, it seems Ahsoka Tano Hunt for Thrawn depicted in The Mandalorian Probably started right after she and Sabine Wren went their separate ways.
