I’m Actually Mad Venom 3 is not a movie about Eddie Brock protecting young Peter Parker

Notice! This article contains spoilers for Venom: The Last Dance.

A rumor about the plot of Venom: The Last Dance
It would have resulted in a very different film, and now that the film has been released, it’s a tragedy that the rumors are false. Sony’s Spider-Man Universe has struggled since its inception to create films that are universally appreciated and praised. Often, criticisms of weak stories, poorly designed and implemented characters, and a lack of real development have made these films failures that tend to be easily forgettable.

However, the final exit of Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock and his symbiotic companion had a chance to rescue the SSU. And before the film’s release, rumors swirled from fans and speculators about how this final installment could reach its full potential. One of these theories was promising and some potential evidence when the trailers were released, but ultimately, Venom: The Last Dance followed the path of all SSU and failed to unite its fractured and fragmented universe in any meaningful way.

Venom 3 is rumored to include young Peter Parker

Peter Parker Could Have Had a Big Role in Venom: The Last Dance

Shortly before the release of Venom 3, the announcement of Rhys Ifan’s casting in the film led some viewers to speculate that there would be a connection to Andrew Garfield’s character. The Amazing Spider-Man. Although this initial rumor was quickly debunked by Venom: The Last Dance director, is led to further speculation about Ifans’ character and specifically the people he was seen with in the trailer. Along with Ifans is a boy, approximately 10 years old, seen in a vehicle with Ifans’ character and Eddie Brock.

THE boy was considered by some to be a younger version of Peter Parkerwhich would mean that this version of the future hero met Venom at a young age, where the symbiote chose to protect him. This would vary from comic books, but the Poison the films never sought to be comedic, with many changes to Brock and Venom’s story. With young Peter in the film, it is speculated that the boy would play a key role in the film and ultimately connect the SSU to its titular hero, who has yet to make any notable appearances in the films to date. However, this obviously did not happen.

Eddie Brock’s scenes with Leaf were some of the strongest in Venom 3

Eddie Brock is shown as paternal and passionate

Despite Peter Parker’s absence from the film, the film featured the boy in a prominent role. Instead of a pre-powered Peter, the boy is named Leaf, and his father, played by Rhys Ifans, took the family on a cross-country trip to explore Area 51 before it was closed. Along their journey, they encounter Eddie Brock, who has no shoes and no means of traveling to his final destination, New York City. The family offers to take Eddie in and allow him to travel with them until they reach Las Vegas, which Eddie graciously accepts.

Leaf likes Eddie, and while her father is sleeping, he tells Eddie about his fear of seeing an alien. This prompts Eddie to speak kindly to the boy and try to ease his fears, before Leaf falls asleep in his arm, and Venom says that Eddie would have been a great father. The trip is short, but Eddie meets Leaf and her family again, and it becomes clear that he has a soft spot for the young man, which leads him to work hard to protect him. Although some scenes in Poison 3 lacking in many ways, the scenes between Leaf and Eddie were full of beautiful emotional depth.

I’d love to see Tom Hardy’s venom protect young Peter Parker

Venom in SSU could have had a unique relationship with Spider-Man

Poison has already set itself apart from most other adaptations of the antihero in the film’s approach to the character, but it never revealed an actual interaction between Venom and Spidey. If Venom: The Last Dance Had it included a young Peter Parker, it would have opened up a huge opportunity to offer one of the most unique and fun interactions between these two iconic characters in any live action scenario. Unfortunately, the film avoided the crossover, and now that the trilogy has ended, it’s unlikely that will happen to the current iterations of these characters.

Tom Hardy’s Venom clearly wants to be a hero, and he chooses to be the Lethal Protector, righting wrongs and taking down bad guys. Although their methods are extreme, they effectively achieve their goals and get rid of the bad guys. If this version of the character had named herself protector of young Peter, it could have been a great way to influence and inspire the young hero even before they develop their powers. And seeing how Peter reacts, whether with horror or awe, could have been an interesting development for SSU before its official unveiling.

If Tom Hardy returns, I hope to see a Venom movie with Dylan Brock

Tom Hardy may still have a future like Eddie Brock

Although Tom Hardy has seemingly retired from his role as Venom, the actor has spoken about the potential return under the right conditions, such as a battle between his Venom and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man (via Independent). However, if he’s open to returning for a story with Holland, he might also be inclined to revisit the character if the story has a significant change, like Eddie becoming a father. Poison 3 did a lot of groundwork establishing Eddie’s future potential as a father. From Venom’s comments to his connection with Leaf, and the comics provide the perfect story for it.

Dylan Brock is the son of Eddie Brock, Anne Weying and Venom. Despite the couple being separated, the Venom symbiote bonded with Eddie and Anne’s bodies at different times, and this connection led to the birth of a new life form. Dylan is a symbiote/human hybrid and has a storyline that sees him face off against Knull, which seems like a perfect fit for How Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock Story Could Continueand bring Knull back after his brief introduction in Venom: The Last Dance.
