There are a handful of costumes he cycles through depending on which X-Men team he’s cast on and what mission he’s undertaking on behalf of mutantkind, with his basic design and different color schemes almost always highlighting Logan’s badass nature. Further proving this fact on an alternate Earth where Logan becomes a member of S.H.I.E.L.D., Wolverine gets an all-new SHIELD-branded costume that works so well it should be part of his permanent wardrobe!

Gaining a new vision of an alternate Earth thanks to the Strategic Intervention Surveillance and Logistics Division, or S.H.I.E.L.D., this organization is most commonly associated with Directed by Nick Fury and utilizes countless people who work alongside (and occasionally against) the superhero community to help combat the tide of evil that ever threatens the Marvel Universe.

Using a piece of technology Reed left behind called the Multisect to “explore the wonders of the Multiverse together,” Johnny and Ben travel to a new reality, where they are immediately greeted by variants of Wolverine and She-Hulk wearing unique but familiar, unique to this alternate universe. Brandishing a SHIELD logo on his chest, Wolverine is dressed in a suit similar to his own. fan favorite brown and orange costume most recently seen during the Krakoan Era, with this sleeveless version of the outfit giving Logan a more streamlined design while also introducing enough subtle elements to make this redesign a resounding success.

Sporting longer hair and a beard alongside a mask nearly identical to the hoods Logan often wears, the addition of a zip-up suit, simple belt, brown gloves, and the orange and black S.H.I.E.L.D. symbol helps this outfit feel right at home. iteration of Wolverine. Furthermore, This costume makes it look like Wolverine’s iconic mask is an optional addition to a professional uniformas in addition to being seen without it shortly after his debut, the fabric on the back of the cowl is rolled up, implying that Wolverine frequently removes and puts it on.

As if fans needed another reason to read this limited series, the next issue features a full-scale battle where other variant SHIELD heroes such as Ms. Marvel, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Daredevil and even Spider-Man, make their debut, showing that it’s not just Logan who visually benefits from joining the ranks of S.H.I.E.L.D., but the entire Marvel Universe as well! Wolverine becoming an official agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. with a new matching costume is a brilliant way to give the character yet another instantly iconic design this would have no problem fitting into Earth-616 as Logan’s main look.
