Before scored a career-low score on Rotten Tomatoes for star Billy Crystal. The actor, best known for his roles in comedies including When Harry met Sally, Monsters, Inc.and City watchmenstars in the Apple TV+ series as widowed psychologist Eli, who discovers he has a mysterious connection to his newest patient. These dark Before reviews, which largely criticize the show’s downbeat and overwrought story, long runtime, and mediocre construction, despite many praising Crystal’s performance, could doom the show before it even has a chance to establish itself after its two-episode debut. Ahead of the new thriller drama’s debut, two of its three scripted projects released since 2019 have received new scores, including the Disney+ show Monsters at Work (an average of 65% over two seasons) and the dramatic film Rising, falling (Certified Fresh at 87%).
