One-man moments in anime can capture the feeling of a single character being strong enough to face legions of enemies. Although there are many powerful people in anime, only a select few have the bloodlust, skill, and supernatural abilities necessary to single-handedly destroy all of their enemies. To be a one-man army, a character cannot have allies to help him. Typically, they become one-man armies to defend their friends or, in the case of some villains, to go on the offensive.
Every moment of the one-man army is thrilling to watch. They’re jaw-dropping spectacles, full of great animation, and usually end up being some of the best fights in anime. Whether the one-man army is fighting for good or evil, its enemies should be worried. One-man armies don’t go down without a fight, and most of the time, they don’t go down with a fight either.

The Saga of Tanya the Wicked stars the most unintentionally funny character, 12-year-old Tanya von Degurechaff. She was a salaryman in her previous life and reincarnated in a girl’s body. Although Tanya may be small in stature, she is a giant on the battlefield. She entered Wizard school at age 9 and was immediately promoted to Second Lieutenant. Now just 12 years old, she masterfully leads her own battalion. In a battle against Anson and his troops, Tanya had her best little girl army moment ever. The Saga of Tanya the Wicked.
She flew straight to her enemies and left his friends behind. In the air, there aren’t many better than the Rhine Devil. She blasted her opponents to pieces with colors flying everywhere. When she was finished with the low-ranking soldiers, she went straight to their boss.

Rimuru vs. The Kingdom of Falmuth
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime
Rimuru has never been an angry or vengeful character in Back then I was reincarnated as a Slime. He is never the type to start a fight and if someone hurt him, he would rather make peace before escalating the problem. Unfortunately for the Kingdom of Falmuth, Rimuru does not extend this mercy to those who hurt his friends. When raiders from Falmuth invaded Tempest and killed Shion, Rimuru had had enough. He encountered the invading army and decided to take care of them all himself.
He flew high into the air and cast what could be his most lethal spell, Megiddo. By refracting the Sun’s rays of light through thousands of water droplets suspended in the air, Rimuru was able to exterminate the entire Falmuth Kingdom army in an instant. It was an insane feat too, as every soldier died from a simple ray of sunlight. Rimuru then sacrificed his souls to become a Demon Lord, further increasing his power and consolidating his position as the ultimate one-man army.

Shimizaki x Teru and friends
Psycho Mafia 100
Shimizaki is a unique character in Psycho Mob 100. Mob’s story doesn’t involve much violence, so seeing someone as skilled at fighting as Shimizaki was a pleasure. Shimizaki faced Teru and all the other espers who opposed him in one of the most lively fights in the anime. He teleported across the battlefield, dodging attacks and striking his opponents at lightning speed. If not for Teru learning Shimizaki’s fighting style of teleporting behind his opponent, he might have been killed.
Shimizaki is a large one-man army. He urges the espers to fight each other as he teleports. When he realizes that Teru is the glue that holds the group together, he singles him out and beats him impressively. Luckily for Teru, Kageyama showed up at the last second to help.

Gotou x Yakuza
Parasite: The Maxim
Gotou was so strong that he made viewers feel bad for the Yakuza throughout Parasite: The Maximum. Gotou recently gained a new body and wanted to test his strength. He decided the best way to do this would be to find a local Yakuza gang and have them fight him. To say he slaughtered the notorious Japanese gangsters would be an understatement. Gotou’s new body is basically immune to guns, swords, and anything else the Yakuza may have thrown his way.
He absorbs your attacks like a sponge. Throwing caution to the wind, Gotou heads straight into the Yakuza office and fights as many people as he can at once. He kills them all in an instant, firing shots and sword strikes as if they were nothing. It’s not often that an anime villain can make viewers look at the Yakuza with sympathy.

Striga vs. Humans
Castlevania
Vampires are a complicated bunch in Castlevania. Technically, they need to feed on human blood to be healthy, but that doesn’t make subjugating humans morally acceptable. Although she may be on the wrong moral side of things, Striga’s one-man army moment in Castlevania was one of the most spectacular events in the series. While she and her fellow vampires are camping for the day, waiting for the sun to set so they can leave, humans find them and attack them.
Humans are capable of exposing many vampires to the sun and killing them. Striga, however, has Day Armor that looks similar to Guts’s Berserker Armor. Furious. Like courage Berserk, Stiga then kills every human he can see. With her day armor, she’s a walking weapon. She slashes her opponents with a massive black sword that draws even more comparisons to the Black Swordsman himself.

Courage against 100 Tudor men Furious
Guts is the quintessential one-man army
Guts is the quintessential one-man army of anime. Every part of Guts was designed to be a unique, unstoppable killing machine. Although he is no stranger to fighting with allies, Guts is at his best when fighting alone. He could become the cruel animal he was always meant to be. In the initial stages of Berserk, before the events of the Eclipse, Guts and his friends are surrounded by 100 Tudor men. Guts, in a moment of self-sacrifice, tells Casca and the rest of his friends to retreat while he buys time.
Guts then goes on to face 100 men alone. At this point in the story, Guts doesn’t even have the legendary Berserker Armor. He doesn’t need it, as he spends the rest of the night single-handedly killing all the enemy forces. When Casca arrives with reinforcements, they are no longer needed. Guts is found with bodies scattered around him, still alive to fight another day.

Levi x Kenny and his squad Attack on Titan
Attack on Titan
Levi Ackerman is introduced to the series of Attack on Titan as the Survey Corps’ most proficient Titan-killing machine. Unfortunately for Kenny Ackerman and his team, Titans aren’t the only thing Levi is good at killing. Kenny is a serial killer and one of the most interesting characters in Attack on Titan. He was the one who basically created Levi, making the fight even more interesting. Kenny always wanted to get stronger and he wanted the same for Levi. By hunting him, he can either kill Levi and continue his quest for strength or be killed by him, allowing the closest thing he has to a son to continue his life.
Their fight was incredible. Levi flew around the city using his OEM gear while being hunted by Kenny’s squad. He did a great job avoiding his attackers and, after some quick thinking at the bar, was able to lead a brutal counterattack against them.

Takauji vs. Prince Moriyoshi and his men
The Indescribable Samurai
Takauji is one of the most interesting characters in The Indescribable Samurai and outside of it. He is otherworldly whenever he appears on screen, having the charismatic charm of a prince with the lethality of an assassin. His one-man massacre in episode six of season one is difficult to describe in words. In fact, Takauji didn’t swing his sword, but everyone around him died. Prince Moriyoshi recognizes Takauji for the threat he is and sends his men to fight him. As Takauji speaks, dozens of heads mystically fly off their bodies. Moriyoshi can’t believe his eyes.
As Takauji calmly approaches the Prince, congratulating him on his recent appointment as Shogun, more bodies fall to the ground. Takauji’s one-man army moment is one of the coolest, most unique, and most jaw-dropping moments in anime. It shows exactly who and, more importantly, what Takauji is. He is a supreme warrior, an expert leader, and possibly a living god.

Madara vs. Shinobi Alliance
Naruto: Shippuuden
When Madara is brought back to life through reanimation jutsu, the Fourth Shinobi War changes forever. Madara Uchiha is easily one of the strongest characters ever naruto and with a reanimated body that instantly heals, he is too strong to handle. A few minutes after his rebirth, Madara launches the best one-man attack in anime. He makes the Allied Shinobi Forces look like children by the way he swings and snakes through them. This fight sequence also has some of the best hand-to-hand fighting moments of Naruto: Shippuden, featuring Madara’s masterful Taijutsu as he dispatches wave after wave of Shinobi.
Madara is an army alone. His Rinnegan techniques, years on the battlefield, and supreme bloodline make him an unstoppable force of evil. If he hadn’t been stabbed in the back by his own allies, who knows how this last one-man army would have died.
