The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power offers an intriguing mix of Tolkien and original characters, and it looks like the series may finally introduce one long-overdue book character. Season 2 revealed that Halbrand and the Stranger were never original characters at all. In fact it was Sauron and Gandalf. With this in mind, Rings of Power The second season made the third season the most faithful to the source material. But all this time, perhaps it was the storyline of the Númenor series that was the most canonical.

Rings of Power Season 3 looks set to finally introduce Isildur’s brother Anarion. In Tolkien’s Akallabeth Isildur was barely mentioned without Anarion.therefore, his appearance in the series is welcome. Elendil orchestrated Anarion’s appearance in the third season by mentioning him at the end of the second season. Fleeing from Pharazon’s pursuit, Elendil noted that his son was where he fled. Finally, season three may reveal the mystery of Anarion’s whereabouts and why he seems to be hanging over the family like a dark cloud.
Abandoning all cynicism, Elendil proudly declares himself a member of the Faithful and eats up his words as he follows Anarion to the West.
The third episode of season one, “Adar,” provided vital information about an awkward family dinner. Isildur wanted to go to the West after his brother Anarion. In legends, in the west was Andunierefuge of believers in Númenor. Elendil revealed his inner conflict, noting that the past is dead and that the West means nothing to them. This highlights the enormous character development of Elendil. By the end of the second season, Elendil’s faith was tested. Abandoning all cynicism, Elendil proudly declares himself a member of the Faithful and eats up his words as he follows Anarion to the West.

Anarion’s absence is a mystery
In whatever western port or kingdom Anarion currently resides, exactly what happened between Anarion and his family and separated them remains a mystery.. The inevitability of Elendil’s meeting with Anarion in Rings of Power Season three promises an intriguing insight into this dysfunctional family – if not a complete explanation. One thing is clear: Anarion represents extreme identification with the ways of the Faithful, while Earien represents the polar opposite, complete devotion to Pharazon. It’s somewhat fitting that Tolkien’s two most important characters in the family sit somewhere in the middle.
Now Elendil can finally fulfill his destiny as leader of the Faithful, Anarion can replace Earien as Elendil’s chief child.
This internal conflict allows the series to give them a compelling journey that resonates with modern audiences. From a cynical place Rings of Power allows Isildur and Elendil to blossom into their true selves. Conflict also creates a deeper and more nuanced psychological profile than the unshakable certainty that is ideal for the epic romance of Tolkien’s works. In the books, Elendil’s entire family was Faithful to the end. Now Elendil is finally free to fulfill his destiny as leader of the group, Anarion can replace Earien as Elendil’s chief child.

Anarion and Isildur changed Middle-earth forever
Anarion and Isildur are two critical brothers when it comes to Lord of the Ringsgoing from Númenórean outcasts to the founders of Gondor and Arnor. Having narrowly escaped the fall of Numenor, Elendil, Isildur and Anarion sailed to Middle-earth and founded the Kingdoms in Exile.. Sauron also survived the fall of Numenor and sought to destroy his old enemies. He attacked Minas Ithil, causing Isildur to flee to Elendil’s fortress.
