‘Honey, I Shrink the Kids’ becomes an epic fantasy adventure in BUG Wars, from two barbarian all-stars

A crazy new story from Image Comics is officially announced, combining the novelty of Honey, I shrunk the kids Featuring the most heroic and fantastical elements of the barbarian fantasy genre. The result is Bug WarsA dark fantasy tale of a child thrust into a brutal war, on the scale of bugs. And if anyone can make it work, it’s the duo of Jason Aaron and Mahmud Asrar.

Bild makes the news official in the midst of New York Comics Con 2024, with writer Jason Aaron (The Mighty Thor, Teenage Mutant Ninja TurtlesAnd Absolute Superman) and artist Mahmoud Asrar (Conan the Barbarian, X-Men, And Batman and Robin) Joining forces for this strange, dark fantasy epic. The first issue arrives in February 2025, with the first details and cover art giving a clear sense of the extraordinarily outrageous tale, which should not be missed.

Slade Slaymaker is a kid from Alabama suddenly lost in a vicious world beyond his imagination, a world of marauding ant armies, spell-casting spider witches and bug-riding barbarians. A kingdom of tiny but deadly warriors hidden in its own backyard. The same world that saw his father eaten alive by insects and now plunges young Slade into the middle of a brutal bug war to decide the fate of his family.

With more insight into the premise of the tale and Slade Slaymaker’s role in it, the comparison between Honey, I shrunk the kids Make perfect sense. Aaron promises an ambitious imagination, which tends to be par for the course for most of his stories. It is A story that seems to capture the photographic inner child at the heart of Aaron’s writing., While he also addressed the bloody (and gore-inducing) violence that his work typically welcomesFound even in a gritty Game Ninja Turtles Reboot. The Game of Thrones analogy along with Honey, I shrunk the kids Showcases how it can be an overarching capricious to Bug WarsBut an underlying darkness that could creep in at any moment.

If it was not already clear from their previous works, it is especially clear from their words that both Aaron and Asrar are completely passionate fans of the fantasy genre and somewhat barbaric.
