Game start times and Netflix live event information

Netflix has been expanding its live coverage in 2024 and, to end the year, the streaming service will broadcast both National Football League (NFL) Christmas Day games. From reality TV reunions to the infamous fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, Netflix has streamed numerous events live. Now, the platform will add two NFL games to its roster. Both matchups are sure to bring in a lot of traffic, and hopefully the streaming company will be more prepared for the massive influx of viewers than it was for the disastrous Netflix. Love is blind season 4 reunion.

Almost every year, some NFL teams play on Christmas Day. It's a tradition, but as mentioned above, this year will be a little different as most fans will have to access Netflix to watch both football games. So this may deter some from tuning in. However, millions of families will subscribe to Netflix on Christmas Day to watch the clashes. As Netflix experienced issues and streaming glitches during the Paul vs. Tyson fight, some may be (rightfully) concerned about watching the games live without any technical issues as promised. Only time will tell if Netflix has learned from past mistakes.

The Chiefs vs. NFL Steelers will be on December 25, 2024, at 1pm ET on Netflix

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce face Russell Wilson and TJ Watt

The first NFL game on Christmas Day will be between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They face off at 1pm ET on Netflix, but pre-game begins at 11am ET. The pregame will consist of analysis from notable experts, former players and award-winning hosts, including Kay Adams, Drew Brees, Robert Griffin III, Manti Te'o, Mina Kimes, Laura Rutledge, Devin McCourty and Jason McCourty (by Netflix Tudum). Two comedians – Bert Kreischer and Nate Bargatze – also make cameo appearances. About that, Mariah Carey performs (pre-recorded) from “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”

Next up, Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs and Russell Wilson of the Pittsburgh Steelers will lead their teams in the first matchup on Christmas Day. During the game, Ian Eagle, Nate Burleson and JJ Watt will serve as on-air commentators. Eagle is slated to be the play-by-play announcer, while Burleson and Watt provide color commentary. Then, pre-game commentators will return at halftime.

Before the game starts, Pentatonix (Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kirstin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola and Matt Sallee) will sing the National Anthem. However, the Ravens vs. Texans will get even more exciting at halftime. Beyoncé is set to perform songs from her latest album Cowboy Carter and a few others in the halftime show, and the talented singer is planning to bring in special guests during the show.

Both NFL Christmas Games Are Live Netflix Events

While both NFL Christmas Day games will stream on Netflix, the platform won't be the only place to find them. Certain local TV stations in Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Houston will broadcast their respective games. NFL+ subscribers can also watch all matchups on the app.

However, Netflix should be the easiest way for most to access NFL games, especially for those living outside of the United States. For those who can't watch live, each game will be available for just three hours after it ends for US subscribers (according to Netflix by Tudum). Meanwhile, NFL Christmas Day matchups will expire 24 hours after they end for international matches Netflix subscribers.
