Sister Wives star Kody Brown has realized that there are more significant problems in his relationship with his children than he thought, and the show is proving that his problems lie in his selfish naturenot the behavior he sees in his children. Throughout the race Sister Wives, Kody has changed as a person, but he doesn't seem to be learning from his past mistakes. Kody has struggled in recent seasons because he has a more strained relationship with his children, but in a recent episode, it came to light that his issues were more about him than the kids themselves.
Sister Wives Season 19 has been showing more about Kody's relationship with his children, which is a mixed bag considering how many kids there are in the Brown family. While Kody's children with Robyn Brown, some of whom he adopted and some younger than his other children, have always been positive, his relationships with his children from previous marriages have not been easy. With Christine Brown, Janelle Brown and Meri Brown choosing to move on from Kody in recent years, his relationship with his children has been more difficult than ever as he navigates his feelings.
Kody Brown has struggled in his relationship with his older children
He never had a good foundation with them
Although Kody has 18 children, all of the Brown family's children seem to have different opinions about their father. Although many of Kody's older children have gone on to have families of their own, things have been difficult in their relationship with their father over the years. Kody's nature hasn't been the best at fostering relationships with his childrenespecially in recent years. Even though they are older and understand how difficult it can be to have a relationship with your children, they understand the lack of love Kody showed in his childhood.
Kody's relationship with his older children has been documented throughout the series, and the problems he faces with these children are not something Sister Wives spectators take it lightly. All over Sister Wives season 19, Kody's difficult relationship with his older children was highlighted. With problems between him and several of his adult children, the children have noted that it is difficult to have a relationship with Kody due to his difficult and selfish nature.
Hunter Brown stepped in to help Ysabel Brown and berated Kody in the process
He was not happy with the message
In a recent episode, Janelle and Kody's son, Hunter Brown, stepped in to help his sister, Christine and Kody's daughter, Ysabel Brown. Ysabel was having surgery, and although Kody couldn't be there, Hunter chose to get involved and support his sister to make sure she had someone she could trust. Kody, who was aware of Ysabel's health issues in the past, made it clear that he was not happy about Hunter taking on the role of Ysabel's father figure. Ignoring Kody's irritation, Hunter berated his father's selfish nature in the process of helping his sister.
Kody's anger comes from his parents' lack of skill, not his children's failures
He was always a poor father
Although Hunter was angry with his father for not being there for critical moments in his children's lives, Kody shared that he has issues with the way his older children talk to and about him. Kody seems to believe that his family problems stem from his ex-wives badmouthing him, but in reality, his children have problems with him because he is selfish and does not participate in their lives. Kody's oldest children have long shared Sister Wives that they want him to care about their lives, but they don't expect him to.
