Jerry MacKenzie's Fate In Outlander Season 7 Episode 13 Explained

Roger said “Hello” and “Goodbye” to his father

Jerry and Roger in Outlander season 7

Outlander Season 7 is gearing up for Roger's reunion with his father. Unfortunately, it didn't last long. Roger told Jerry that he had accidentally traveled through time and admitted that he was also a time traveler. However, he did not reveal that they were father and son. Instead, Roger hurried Jerry away from the people hunting him and back to the rocks near what would become the Loch Errochty dam. These rocks didn't exist in Roger's time, but Jerry must have found his way to them after crash-landing.

Roger quickly gave Jerry a rundown on time travel, handing him a piece of jewelry and telling him to think about his wife, Marjorie. Jerry was immediately curious as to how Roger knew Marjorie's name, but there was no time for explanation. After a few more words of comfort, Roger pushed Jerry towards the rocks, quickly uttering “I love you“as soon as your father disappeared. At that exact moment, Roger had a vision of Jerry holding his younger self (probably about 5 years old) underground during an air raid. This is strange since Roger never met Jerry when he was that age.

Outlander Season 7 Episode 13 doesn't reveal what happened to Jerry MacKenzie after Roger sent him back through the rocks. Roger stated at the end of the episode that he expected to be flooded with memories of being raised by his father, but that did not happen. It seemed like nothing had changed, leading Roger to believe that Jerry had not returned to his time. Even so, Buck points out that they should arrive in 1739 and help Jerry. Regardless of what happened to the man afterwards or what time he landed, it was not Jerry MacKenzie's fate to come to a bad end in the 18th century.

Where Jemmy Was Hiding (and What Happened to Rob Cameron)

Brianna Finally Reunited With Her Son

After sending his father back, Roger realized that Jemmy probably wouldn't be around in 1739. Of course, he was absolutely right. Instead, it was Brianna and Mandy who hunted Jemmy while playing “Hot and cold“in the Scottish Highlands. Jemmy has also participated in the game since he realized he was being held prisoner inside the tunnel under Loch Errochtywhere Cameron had locked Brianna in the beginning Outlander season 7. This is why Mandy's connection with Jemmy was severed, leading her parents to believe he traveled through time – a magical ley line runs through the tunnel.

Jemmy remembered his mother's story about escaping the tunnel at Loch Errochty and managed to find his way out the same way. Although he was almost run over by Brianna's car, Jemmy was emotionally reunited with his mother once he emerged from the tunnel. Unfortunately, Rob Cameron had already escaped from Lallybroch by the time the MacKenzies returned home. The police were essentially useless, suspecting that Brianna and Rob were having an affair while Roger was out of town. So, Brianna sent her children away with Fiona and waited for Rob to return – at gunpoint.

Lord John's Fate in Outlander Season 7 Episode 13 Explained

Lord John is fighting to survive

Lord John looks angry in Outlander

Outlander Season 7, Episode 13 didn't devote much time to the fate of Lord John Grey, as the focus was predominantly on Roger and Brianna's adventures. However, this issue took at least a moment to confirm that the man was still alive. Episode 12 ended with Lord John running through the forest as Continental soldiers shot after him. In episode 13, he was woken up while sleeping, still tied up, on the forest floor. The man who poked him was another Continental soldier, though none who recognized him as a prisoner sentenced to hang.

Lord John thought quickly when the soldier asked him where he had escaped. He claimed he was on his way to enlist in the Continental Army when he was captured by the Redcoats. John gave the alias Bertram Armstrong and learned that the soldier who found him was Reverend Peleg Woodsworth of the 16th Pennsylvania. Woodsworth was kind enough to relieve John (aka Bertram) of his handcuffs. More than likely, this Outlander character will accompany his new friend back to camp on the 16th.

William Ransom is missing in Outlander season 7, episode 13

William's story was briefly paused

A big question that arises Outlander Season 7, Episode 12 was what was to come from William Ransom. He had just discovered that Jamie was his father and that he was a bastard, not a legitimate earl. This led him to make a series of bad and quite destructive decisions. Unfortunately, William was not present at Outlander season 7, episode 13but Claire and Jamie at least addressed the boy's absence before the end. Claire assured Jamie that William would return and would eventually understand why this secret was kept from him. After all, William is a lot like Jamie – hot-headed but reasonable in the long run.

How Outlander Season 7, Episode 13 Sets Up the Story's Continuation

There are 3 episodes left in Outlander season 7

Outlander season 7 is primed and ready for the final stretch of twists and turns. After sending his father back through the stones in Outlander Season 7, Episode 12, Roger realized that Jerry's presence in 1739 probably meant that Jemmy wasn't there after all. This (hopefully) means that Roger will return to his own time to regroup with Brianna. Roger would then discover that Jemmy was safe and sound with Fiona and could help Brianna defend her home against Rob Cameron's inevitable return.

Jamie has his brand new uniform and is ready to lead his own battalion as a brigadier general.

At the end of Outlander season 7, episode 12, Jamie and Ian prepared to return to battle. Jamie's got his shiny new uniform (blue this time, thankfully) and is ready to lead his own battalion as a brigadier general. Ian will serve as a scout and has promised his new wife, Rachel, that he will avoid killing at all costs. Then there is, of course, Lord John, who appears to have become part of the Continental Army despite his royal affiliation as a Redcoat. The final three episodes of Outlander Season 7 will definitely be very exciting.
