Moana 2 It passed a major box office milestone during its fourth weekend in theaters. Disney's 2024 animated film, which was originally developed as a Disney+ exclusive series, is the sequel to the 2016 film. Moanafollowing the title character (Auli'i Cravalho) reuniting with demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson) in a new seafaring adventure. THE Moana 2 The release opened mid-week over the Thanksgiving holiday and still grossed an impressive $139.8 million in its three-day opening weekend in North America alone.
Put Varietyfrom Saturday, Moana 2 has already surpassed the US$350 million mark at the national box office. While it remains to be seen how high it will climb by the end of the weekend, it is on track to surpass Despicable Me 4 ($361 million) to become the fourth-highest-grossing domestic release of the year so far. That would only put you behind Evil ($370.4 million before this weekend), Deadpool and Wolverine ($636.7 million) and Inside Out 2 ($652.9 million).
