This brought him into conflict with Iron Man's new protégé, Spider-Man, resulting in his arrest. Given that Vulture was not killed off, many assumed he was being groomed for a villainous role in future films such as Spider-Man 4.
However, the 2022 release Morbius confusing things. In the post-credits scene of the superhero movie set in an entirely different universe, Vulture somehow appeared. Vulture claims it doesn't know how it got into this universe, insisting it had something to do with Spider-Man, despite the Web-Slinger not appearing in any of the SSU films except Lady Teia like a newborn baby. Since then, The Vulture has not appeared in either the MCU or SSU, raising the question of where exactly he is now this Kraven the Hunter effectively ended the last franchise.

Admittedly, there are ways Marvel Studios could explain the Morbius post-credits scene, but it could be easier for the franchise to just ignore it. Morbius was a critical and commercial failure, receiving incredibly poor reviews and earning a worldwide box office haul of just $167 million. As such, there aren't many who will be overly concerned about the MCU maintaining continuity with Morbius in case Marvel Studios decides to disregard the film.
Secondly, the MCU could directly address Morbius'post-credits scene thanks to the events of Spider-Man: No way home. This film saw Spider-Man-adjacent characters being thrown into universes, including the likes of Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock/Venom, who also exists in Sony's Spider-Man universe. Just as Venom briefly jumped universes from the SSU to the MCU and back again, it could be explained that Vulture simply did the opposite. This would allow the Marvel Cinematic Universe to explain any potential plot holes, while also releasing Keaton's Vulture and the post-credits scene seven years into the future.
