A well-received installment in the long-running series
Continuing to prove itself as one of Netflix's most popular ongoing series, Virgin River Season 6 delivered exactly what was expected in its sixth season. Although the series never sets the world on fire from a critical point of view (excellent Rotten tomatoes scores aside), of course what Virgin River Knows exactly which buttons to press to please your audience. Although reviews were scarce, Dexerto quickly called season 6 the series' best yet, and it's hard to argue considering the stark changes. Even though twists and turns are expected, the successful delivery is what makes Season 6 a success.

Virgin River inhabitants return
The entire main cast of Virgin River Season 5 returned for Season 6. The show was anchored by Alexandra Breckenridge as Melinda “Mel” Monroe from the beginning, and she was accompanied by Martin Henderson as Jack Sheridan. The city is made up of a large ensemble, each with their own dramatic stories, and season 6 has added some new faces to spice things up too. Perhaps the most interesting is Jessica Rothe (Happy death day) and Callum Kerr (Hollyoaks) joined as Sarah and Everett, respectively, the younger version of Mel's parents.

Just before the show returns in December 2024, Netflix revealed the first teaser trailer to Virgin River 6th season. Opening with Jack's proposal to Mel, the teaser shows clips of their various adventures together over the years. It eventually switches to new footage as the pair prepare for the wedding, including a ride in a pink limo, tuxedo fittings and even a small look at Mel's wedding dress.

A surprisingly twisty ending
In addition to adding some intrigue to the plot, the season's twists also do an excellent job of setting up the major conflicts that will arise in Season 7.
While the 6th season of Virgin River finally delivered the wedding viewers wanted since day one, that doesn't mean things were all positive. The Season 6 finale threw more than its fair share of curveballs for Mel and Jackand the rest of Virgin River's inhabitants were not immune to soap opera-style shocks. In addition to adding some intrigue to the plot, the season's twists also do an excellent job of setting up the major conflicts that will arise in Season 7, and next season could be the most explosive yet.
