Artificer playtesting has finally begun for D&D 2024

It was recently announced that the Artificer class is set to return in the 2024 update for Dungeons and Dragons and which is currently seen in the playtest phase via a playtest snapshot of Unearthed Arcana. Details about playtesting were elaborated in a video posted on the official website Dungeons and Dragons YouTube channel, expanding many of the class mechanics and how changes are being considered. Currently, the latest work on the Artificer class is being done to align with the newest edition of D&D and to receive improvements similar to what the other classes have received.
For 5e, the Artificer class was seen in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything and Eberron: Rising from the Last Warbringing unique class to the game. There is 4 Artificer subclasses being worked on for the new 2024 version of the class: Alchemist, Armorer, Gunner and Battle Blacksmith. There is also mention of a new spell and new magical items, additions made to the already beloved class. It was the only class that was not mentioned in the new 2024 Player HandbookSo these reworks are exciting for those who have been waiting to play an Artificer character with the new rulesets.

It may be some time before the official release of the Artificer class, as there is no clear release window for the latest version of The Artificer.
