However, some contain an inconsistency that has been repeated countless times, resulting in frustration during what should be a joyful and celebratory time.

After all, many of them revolve around a magical being who lives at the North Pole and delivers gifts to every child in the world one night a year. However, some plot holes are much more glaring than others. In particular, it's hard not to notice a frustrating and perplexing detail regarding some films' depictions of Santa Claus and his existence in their fictional worlds.

Possible Explanations for the Santa Claus Plot Hole in Christmas Movies
Magic may justify parents' reactions to Santa Claus
At first sight, the plot hole about the parents not believing in Santa Claus is quite confusing and unfathomable. However, perhaps there is an explanation that can free films like Santa Claus, Elf, and The Polar Express of this plot hole. Everything could return to magic, which Santa Claus has in spades. However, even this theory has holes.
Santa Claus can use his magic to trick parents into thinking they're the ones who bought their children's presents in these festive films. However, this would only work if Santa didn't want people to know he exists, which doesn't make sense. The purpose of Ed Asner's Santa Claus character in Elf it's just that he needs everyone to believe in him. Furthermore, Santa Claus would admit to wanting to live anonymously in Christmas films. The other common explanation is that parents are terrible at communicating and they think their partner is the one behind the Christmas presents.
The existence of Santa Claus raises even more questions
The current situation makes this plot hole even more complex
Unfortunately, This Santa Claus plot hole in holiday movies runs deep. There are simply too many questions that the story will never be able to explain, including whether all children get gifts from Santa Claus, why parents also buy gifts, and why some children don't get the gift they wanted (as in Santa Claus). The truth is that we will probably never be able to solve this mystery. Sometimes you have to ignore glaring plot holes, like the one about adults not believing in Santa Claus, and just enjoy the Christmas Movie.
