Landman Episode 6 Makes Demi Moore's Problem Even Worse by Missing the Chance to Fix It

Notice! This article contains SPOILERS for episode 6 of Landman.Landman had a problem with Demi Moore's character from the start, and it only got worse after episode 6 missed the chance to fix it. Alongside Billy Bob Thornton and Jon Hamm, Demi Moore is one of the biggest stars in the cast of Landman. Despite her recognizable name and acting talent, Moore barely had a role in the first six episodes of the series. In truth, Landman is completely wasting Demi Moore and Jon Hamm, and Moore's character, Cami Miller, did little more than serve as a backdrop for a handful of scenes.

With 60% of Landman The first season ended, Demi Moore did almost nothing. Cami went swimming a few times, shared some unimportant conversations with Monty (Jon Hamm) and made some drinks. Landman has apparently been content to let Cami walk in the background while other more important characters do the heavy lifting and get some real character development. Cami and LandmanThe misuse of Demi Moore has been an issue all season, but the end of Landman episode 6 made it even worse by not taking the chance to fix it.

Landman Episode 6 Could Have Solved Demi Moore's Problem

Landman had a golden opportunity to give Cami some substance and didn't take it

In Landman episode 6, Demi Moore's Cami and Billy Bob Thornton's Tommy finally met on screen, and there was a golden opportunity for the show to give Moore a substantial scene. Landman It looked like just that was about to happen when Cami and Tommy started talking about Angela (Ali Larter) and hinting at their former friendship, but backed out before giving Moore something to do.. Instead of letting Moore have a moment in the spotlight, Landman quickly got over Cami's conversation with Tommy and had her pour drinks for Tommy and Monty before moving on to the rest of the episode.

The fact that Landman I had a great opportunity to finally use Demi Moore and to unceremoniously walk past her is totally baffling. Landman episode 6 could have been a chance to show that Cami is much more involved in Monty's business than she originally seemed, or it could have shown that their marriage is much more interesting than has been portrayed so far, but it wasn't. Landman could have done literally anything with Moore's character, but decided to continue showing her as a subdued, dutiful wife who literally anyone could have played..

It will be very strange if Landman doesn't give Demi Moore more things to do

If Demi Moore gets through Landman's first season as just a housewife, it will be her least impressive character in years

After six episodes, the fact that Landman didn't use Cami in any major way is very strange. Demi Moore had a tremendous year even before Landman debuted thanks to his leading role in The substancewhich received critical praise and huge box office earnings. Even before that, Moore was the star of timeless classics like Ghost and Jane Janeand she had more than enough name recognition to justify much of it. If Landman somehow finishing the final four episodes of season 1 without giving Demi Moore something to do will be one of the biggest, most confusing missed opportunities in recent memory.

It's totally confusing that such a talented actor would play a role on a major TV show only to be, at best, a background character. During the first 60% LandmanCami had at most three or four inconsequential lines per episode. It just doesn't make sense Landman bothered to cast Demi Moore and pay her a star salary when her character could have been played by an extra. If the final episodes of Landman The first season won't quickly correct how unimportant Cami has been, Moore's role in the series will have been a huge waste.

What Landman Should Do With Demi Moore's Cami

Cami could easily prove to be an integral part of Monty's story

Cami (Demi Moore) and Monty Miller (Jon Hamm) in episode 5 of Landman

One of the most disconcerting parts of Moore's small role in Landman it also reveals how the program can use her better: she was created by Taylor Sheridan. Taylor Sheridan's shows are filled with complex, well-written female characters, from Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) in yellow stone to Joe (Zoe Saldaña) in Lioness. Both Beth and Joe have achieved important positions in male-dominated worlds, and Cami could easily do the same and take on a more important role in Monty's oil business.. Landman it could reveal that she's something of an MTex, or that she contributes something to the business that Monty isn't capable of, like political connections or networking skills.

Whether that means focusing more on Monty's side of the oil industry or somehow reuniting Cami and Angela, Landman has to dive deeper into Demi Moore's character before it's too late.

There is also nothing inherently wrong with a female character whose main role in a series is to be a wife and mother, and Landman it could still give Cami more to do in these roles. Angela is the perfect example: her main characteristic is being Tommy's wife and Ainsley's mother, but Ali Larter has done an impeccable job of giving Angela a deeply emotional and moving core.. She had chances to be strong, funny, caring, tragic and many other things. Cami could easily follow in Angela's footsteps and find a way to show her depth and strength alongside Hamm's Monty.

Regardless of what Landman do with Cami, you have to do something. Demi Moore is a very great actress and has been very important for Landmanadvertising for Cami, so that Cami remains as a background character. It's also not enough to simply give Moore more screen time, she needs to have a major impact on the plot of Landman. Whether that means focusing more on Monty's side of the oil industry or somehow reuniting Cami and Angela, Landman We have to delve deeper into Demi Moore's character before it's too late.
