Spoiler alert: The following article contains spoilers for Yellowstone Season 5, Episode 14, “Life Is a Promise.”
While yellow stone tries to close almost every chapter of its story during the finale, the audience is still left with many unanswered questions, especially about what the future holds for the characters. The neo-Western drama TV show created by Taylor Sheridan and Jon Linson (allegedly) came to an end after Season 5, Episode 14, “Life Is a Promise.” THE yellow stone finale is, without a doubt, structured to serve as a series finale, as many stories and character arcs are resolved. However, not every mystery is solved when the credits roll.
Viewers learn the fate of Yellowstone Dutton Ranch in the Season 5, Episode 14 finale. Kayce's plan to save the ranch is to sell it to Chief Thomas Rainwater for much less than it is worth, even if it means the Dutton family loses him. Consequently, the reserve does not have to pay the exorbitant inheritance tax, and the Duttons are assured that the land will be looked after. Unfortunately, this also means that almost everyone must leave and begin the next chapter of their lives. Elsewhere in the yellow stone In the end, Beth kills Jamie and the Duttons bury John.

Is Sarah ever implicated in John's death?
Beth tells the police about Sarah's actions during the Yellowstone finale
Sara dies in yellow stone Season 5, Episode 11, before anyone can suspect that she ordered John's execution (apart from Beth, of course). However, that doesn't mean she couldn't be implicated in his death. Kayce's actions at the medical examiner's office in episode 11 result in her father's cause of death being changed from suicide to undetermined, meaning the investigation into who murdered John is reopened. Unfortunately, yellow stone it never truly shows whether John's case is solved.
After covering up Jamie's death during the yellow stone In the end, Beth tells the police that Sarah was involved in John's murder. She tells Detective Dillard to investigate LLCs in Sarah's name. Beth instructs him to look for large wire transfers to numbered offshore accounts, which should lead him to the assassins Sarah hired to kill John. After Beth leaves for the hospital, it is unclear whether the detective's search was successful or whether he exposed Grant (the man Sarah spoke to about the murder). It is assumed that Dillard will do so and get justice for John's murder, but viewers may never know for sure.

Is the case surrounding Jamie’s “disappearance” closed?
Beth apparently gets away with murder
yellow stone Episode 14 of Season 5 doesn't show John's murder case being officially closed, and it also never reveals the outcome of the investigation into Jamie's “disappearance.” Detective Dillard apparently takes Beth's words literally, and it is assumed that Jamie's car (which Rip sets on fire and abandons) in Idaho supports his claims. However, this is a bit unrealistic.
One would believe that the police would look harder for Jamie or for the truth behind the fight between the two Dutton brothers at Jamie's house. They wouldn't just say “Case closed” after Beth's testimony and the discovery of the car. Instead of, yellow stone ends with Beth winning the Dutton family war. It seems she got away with murder, but the yellow stone The Season 5 finale is still unclear about how (or if) Jamie's case will be closed.

Does Kayce know that Beth killed Jamie?
Yellowstone's ending doesn't show Kayce's reaction to his brother's fate
After Beth kills Jamie and Rip and Lloyd dispose of his body in yellow stone Season 5, Episode 14, the neo-Western drama never shows Kayce's reaction to what happened to Jamie. It's unclear whether those involved formally told Kayce the truth or let him infer how Jamie disappeared. Based on Beth and Kayce's conversations in yellow stone season 5, part 2, Kayce knows her sister wanted Jamie's head on a stick. He is smart enough to realize what happened without anyone telling him.

Even though neither Beth nor Rip inform Kayce of the truth, yellow stoneThe ending still doesn't show Kayce's reaction to his brother's “disappearance”. At the beginning of the season, Kayce was hesitant to believe that Jamie was involved in his father's death. Some part of him cared deeply about Jamie. So, it's strange that the yellow stone The Season 5 Part 2 finale never addresses Kayce's reaction to Jamie's fate. Perhaps knowing for sure that Jamie participated in John's murder (whether he was willing or not) made Kayce not care too much about what happened to his brother.

What happens to Kayce and his family after starting a new ranch?
Kayce wants to make a name for himself
Kayce, Monica and Tate are the only ones yellow stone Season 5, Part 2 characters who end up where they started at the beginning of the season. As part of his agreement with Chief Rainwater Kayce and her family stay at their home in East Camp. There, they decide to open a new ranch. At the end of yellow stone In the end, Kayce and Tate buy cattle at an auction and take them back to East Camp, where they and Monica begin the next chapter of their lives.
Kayce says he's finally free after selling the ranch in yellow stone Season 5, Episode 14. He always felt tied to the ranch and would never be able to escape his life or his family's legacy. Now, Kayce can create her own. However, It is unknown whether Kayce and his family's new ranch will be successful, or whether he works in harmony with members of the Broken Rock Reservation, since East Camp is technically on his property.

Will Beth and Rip formally adopt Carter?
Carter moves with the couple to Dillon
Carter joined the cast of yellow stone in season 4, when he meets Beth in the hospital, where her father dies of a drug overdose. Afterwards, the Duttons take in the troubled boy and put him to work. Beth and Carter form a special bond, and the neo-Western drama makes it seem like Beth and Rip will one day formally adopt Carter. However, this never happens when the ending arrives.
Hopefully Finn Little reprises his role as Carter in Beth and Rip's yellow stone spinoff series and solves this mystery.
Since Carter moved with Beth and Rip to his new ranch in Dillon in yellow stone Season 5, Episode 14, he appears to be their son. Carter is much more than a hired help for the couple, especially for Beth. However, the ending never reveals whether Beth and Rip make it official and adopt Carter, or whether they simply continue to care for him without needing to make it legal. Hopefully Finn Little reprises his role as Carter in Beth and Rip's yellow stone spinoff series and solves this mystery.

What happens to the ranch after Chief Rainwater and Broken Rock buy it?
Kayce sells the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch to save it during the finale
In the same vein as Kayce's next venture after the yellow stone finale, it is unknown what happens to the ranch after Chief Rainwater buys it. Sure, your tribe steps up and takes control, but what's next? The people of the Broken Rock Reservation will take good care of the land and protect him with their lives, which was why Kayce sold him to them in the first place. However, as some may remember, not everything is peaceful within the tribe.
Chief Rainwater has many enemies outside and inside the Broken Rock Reservation (which now includes Yellowstone). During yellow stone season 5, part 1, Angela Blue Thunder attempted to oust Chief Rainwater from his position in the tribe. Angela does not appear in Season 5, Part 2, and she is never mentioned again. She may still be working to gain the trust of the people and steal their loyalty to Chief Rainwater, causing tension within the reservation even after they finally regain their ancestral lands. THE yellow stone finale could have easily created a spinoff continuing this story and answering this question.

Has the pipeline already been built?
Mo and other tribe members try to sabotage the pipeline
At the beginning of Taylor Sheridan's series finale yellow stoneMo and members of the Broken Rock Reservation sabotage the construction of the gas pipeline. The pipeline must pass through their lands, destroying them. After trying several other methods to stop him, the tribe resorts to taking matters into their own hands. Mo and others ride in the middle of the night and pour the pipes into the water, where Mo states that they can never be recovered.

Members of the Broken Rock Reservation are apparently never caught for their crimes. However, their actions will not be enough to completely stop construction of the pipeline, as Chief Rainwater points out in the yellow stone Season 5, Episode 14. However, getting rid of the pipes will get people's attention. As a result, the tribe may make enough noise to convince the government to halt the project. Unfortunately, the yellow stone finale never reveals the outcome of this conflict.

What happens to Lloyd?
Rip invites Lloyd to join him, Beth and Carter at Dillon
Lloyd is the only farmer whose fate is a bit confusing at the moment yellow stone comes to an end. Rip offers the older man a job at his and Beth's new ranch in Dillon, Montana, but Lloyd declines. Before selling the land to Chief Rainwater and the Broken Rock Reservation, Lloyd was open to staying and working for Rip, despite the ranch's monetary problems. In the end, however, Lloyd states that If he can't be a cowboy in Yellowstone, he doesn't want to be one anywhere else.
Perhaps Lloyd will accept his offer from Rip later, and Smith will reprise his role in Rip and Beth yellow stone derived series.
Forrie J. Smith yellow stone the character also mentions “pulling up that loose West Yellowstone thread” to “knock some sense into these townspeople.” This answer is somewhat ambiguous, meaning Lloyd's fate is still up in the air. Perhaps Lloyd will accept his offer from Rip later, and Smith will reprise his role in Rip and Beth yellow stone derived series.

Who really ordered Sarah's murder?
Yellowstone never confirms who killed Sarah
The best episode of the season was without a doubt yellow stone Season 5, Episode 11, mainly because of Sarah's surprising death at the end of the hour. It was the only development that really shocked viewers (in a good way). Unfortunately, the neo-Western drama did little to continue this momentum, but that's beside the point. Someone hired assassins to kill Sarah, and yellow stone it never directly says who was responsible for his death.
The killers Sarah hired to execute John are likely the same ones who killed her when John's cause of death was changed from suicide to undetermined. yellow stone subtly indicates that this is the case. However, the show doesn't fully convey this information, so Sarah's death is still a bit confusing. If Grant sent assassins to kill Sarah in yellow stone In Season 5, Episode 11, the series certainly never confirms this theory, leaving it a mystery.

Is Yellowstone Season 5 Really the End?
Paramount previously announced that Season 5 would be the final season of Yellowstone
Shortly after Kevin Costner's departure yellow stoneParamount announced that the show would end after season 5. In the months leading up to part 2's premiere, everyone assumed this was the case. Even during the airing of Season 5, Part 2, many viewers accepted the fact that the series was ending. However, when episode 14 arrived, Paramount Network began promoting it as a “season finale” rather than a “series finale”.
At the time of writing this article, it is still unclear whether yellow stone season 6 is happening. Given the events of the Season 5 finale and the Beth and Rip spinoff announcement, it looks like the neo-Western drama is truly over. Paramount has not addressed the Season 6 rumors, however, leading many to believe that yellow stone may still return, even after the Duttons sell the ranch.
