The new Mythical Island mini set for Pokémon TCG Pocket was finally released and with it, players not only gained access to dozens of new cards, but also a host of new content that includes quests, exclusive rewards and more. Mythical Island is the second expansion for the virtual Collectible Card Gamewhich is currently available for iOS and Android devices. The mini-set arrived shortly after the game's release and the debut of Genetic Apex cards for Pokémon TCG Pocketwhich made up the first expansion of the title.
Like a mini set, Mythical Island has far fewer cards than Genetic Apex. While the first set consisted of 286 cards, the new expansion brings 86 cards to the table. Mythical Island is centered around Mew, but features cards from several other Pokémon, including many that were not yet available in the game. The expansion also adds new graphics for existing cards. Because of all the new content added with the release of Mythical IslandIt's reasonable to wonder if the expansion has a special card like Mew's secret Pokémon TCG Pocket: Genetic Apex.

The mini-set has secret missions to complete
For reference, Mew's secret card Genetic Apex can be unlocked by obtaining a card for each of the 150 original Generation 1 Pokémon. This is an obscure achievement that is not explicitly shown in players' quest logs. Those unaware of its existence will likely be surprised to receive an engaging art card in Pokémon TCG Pocket centered on the first Mythical Pokémon. The Mythical Island announcement raised questions among the community, who wondered if there would be a new secret card to unlock with the mini-set.
Unfortunately, there is no secret card to unlock inside Mythical Islandcontent of. Despite the presence of several secret missions to complete, which grant different rewards, there is no immersive secret card to obtain, like the one centered on Celebi, the second Mythical Pokémon in the franchise. As such, collection-focused players don't need to worry about any specific requirements for obtaining a rare card – instead, they can focus on simply completing their collection by releasing a rare card. Even though there are no secret cards to unlock with the extra collection, players can get a multitude of rewards by completing secret missions with the new Mythical Island mini set. These include Pack Hourglasses, Wonder Hourglasses, Shop Tickets, and even an exclusive Celebi emblem that can only be obtained by gathering a certain collection of cards. These quests are only revealed in-game after they are completed, so players typically cannot see them.

These secret missions stack with other regular missions that players can view by visiting the Missions page. For the Mythical Island In missions, players will then have to access the Thematic Collections function to see which cards they need to acquire.
Are Pokémon TCG Pocket: Mythical Island secret missions limited?
Players can complete missions as long as the mini set is available in the game
It's important to note that just like the regular, explicitly listed quests these secret missions to Mythical Island cards have no time limit. As such, even with the release of the next set for Pokémon TCG Pocketlikely taking place in the first quarter of 2025, current cards will still be purchasable and respective quests will still be available for completion – as long as players continue to open Mythical Island boosters and use pack points to get what's still missing in the collection. If the set is discontinued, however, the missions must also be removed.
THE Mythical Island The mini-set is the first of more expansions expected to arrive as the new card game continues to grow over the next year. While this current set doesn't feature any new secret unlockable cards, like the notable Mew card from Genetic Apexthe other future sets could add more secret cards to unlock, hopefully with interactive artwork as well. For now, players should focus on completing their growing card collection in Pokémon TCG Pocket.
