The beloved sitcom Health was full of great episodes throughout its 11 seasons, but only 10 can be considered the best. Health has been popular since its debut in 1982, but has gained renewed relevance thanks to the new reboot of Frasier. The news also made Health relevant again thanks to the upcoming British remake of Health. As the UK begins to try to recapture the magic of HealthIt's always helpful to look at the absolute highlights of the original show to see what the reboot is up against.
Health It was mostly a comedy, but it was much more than that. As the theme song suggests, it was a cozy show that could easily make the audience cry and laugh. Therefore, the best episodes of Health are not only the most hilarious, but also the most moving, moving, or simply the most indicative of the show's complexity. Humor, however, plays a huge factor in the quality of each episode, so there are plenty of laughs in the best episodes of Health.

“Simon Says”
Cheers Season 5 Episode 21
Sam (Ted Dnason) and Diane's (Shelley Long) difficult relationship was the basis of the first few seasons of Healthand they reached their funniest point in season 5. When Dr. Simon Finch-Royce (John Cleese) visited Frasier, he gave Sam and Diane some free marital counseling. However, Simon didn't tell them exactly what they wanted to hear: he said they were a bad match. After pestering him to reconsider until he had a nervous breakdown in his hotel room and declared them the best couple ever, Diane smugly said:See?“to complete a hilariously delirious episode of Health.
Sam (Ted Dnason) and Diane's (Shelley Long) difficult relationship was the basis of the first few seasons of Cheers, and they reached their funniest point in Season 5.
While “Simon says' was hilarious, it also laid a lot of groundwork for later episodes to explore why Sam and Diane wouldn't work as a couple. It was a great setup for Shelley Long's departure from the series and also works as a preview of Sam and Diane's ultimate fate in the series finale. “Simon says“also highlighted all the hilarious differences between them, like Sam asking if Simon was”in the hopper” before Diane waxed poetic about how they would die in each other's arms.

“Rebeca Redux”
Cheers Season 9 Episode 3
Although she only joined the cast of Health in season 6, Rebecca Howe (Kirstie Alley) became an integral part of the show. Rebecca was best known for being more career-focused than Sam and for her desire to marry a wealthy husband. That last mission got her into trouble in “Rebecca Redux,” when she decided to leave Cheers and start a new career after her boss and boyfriend were arrested. This new career, which she said was “public relations”, ended up being as a car show presenter where Rebecca had to deal with acid, fire and boiling tar..
There are many funny moments in “Rebecca Redux“That makes it one of Rebecca's most comedic episodes, but it also helped reestablish her place at the bar. As much as Rebecca wanted to live a life of luxury,”Rebecca Redux” showed that she had become a crucial part of Health. Even with a great replacement in Earl (Bryan Clark), the bar didn't feel like home without her. In a way, this showed one of the Health'biggest strengths: the ability to thrive long after one of its most important characters has left the series.

“Abnormal Psychology”
Cheers Season 5 Episode 4
Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) and Lilith Sternin (Bebe Neuwirth) were somehow an even more mismatched couple than Sam and Diane, but their relationship was always good for a laugh. After a particularly rocky start, Frasier and Lilith's relationship came to life in “Abnormal Psychology“after Diane gave Lilith a makeover and the two had a live television debate. There was genuine chemistry between Grammer and Neuwirth in this episode, and even with all their psychological chatter, their on-air flirting was hilarious to watch.
“Abnormal Psychology“It also did two things really well for Frasier and Lilith. Firstly, it showed how great their comedic dynamic was. Grammer's over-the-top physical comedy and cynical wit meshed perfectly with Neuwirth's cold, more direct humor, and they elevated each other even more than they could on their own.. “Abnormal Psychology” also laid the foundation for the Frasier the spinoff would happen eventually, as it was one of the first episodes to prove that Grammer could lead on his own.

“From beer to eternity”
Cheers Season 4 Episode 9
No best list Health the episodes would be complete without mentioning the Bar Wars. Any of the chronicles of the rivalry between Cheers and Gary's Olde Town Tavern could be among the show's best, but the first was arguably the best of the bunch. “From beer to eternity” sees the Cheers gang bowling, and is one of the few Health episodes that happened outside the bar. It's also one of the few episodes that leaves Sam at a disadvantage and doesn't portray him as the cool, confident leader of Cheers, which is always fun to see.
Any of the chronicles of the rivalry between Cheers and Gary's Olde Town Tavern could be among the show's best, but the first was arguably the best of the bunch.
In addition to being a unique episode, “From beer to eternity” also did a lot for the main cast of Health. As one of the first episodes Woody was in, it went a long way toward introducing him to the audience and helping him step into the coach's shoes.. It was also one of the few times that Diane had the chance to show a less arrogant and pretentious side of herself, proving that she could do much more than be the butt of jokes.

“An old-fashioned wedding”
Cheers, season 10, episodes 25 and 26
Wedding episodes are no stranger to long-running comedies, and it's quite easy for them to slip into fan-service between two beloved characters. Health“Best Wedding Episode,” however, didn't have that problem, as “An old-fashioned wedding” finally reunited Woody and his longtime girlfriend Kelly (Jackie Swanson). Since the engaged couple only had one main character to focus on, Health I was able to explore the rest of the cast in detail, from Rebecca's struggles dealing with high society to Norm's insistence that Woody not get married.
Being one of the few two-part episodes in Health the story also helped “An old-fashioned wedding“succeed. It gave the episode time to explore everything from Woody and Kelly's relationship to the crazy family dynamics and even the catering team.. It was also one of the many times that Health emphasized how much the bar's customers and staff meant to each other and how much they had become family over the years.

“Endless Solution”
Cheers Season 1 Episode 10
There were some early episodes of Health which immediately established that it was not a typical comedy, and “Endless sleep“It was one of the most effective.”Endless sleep” follows Sam as he mentors a young Red Sox pitcher, Rick Walker (Christopher McDonald) through a crisis. Sam ends up giving his lucky bottle cap to the pitcher, and only after Rick loses the trinket does Sam reveal that it helped him recover from alcoholism..
“Endless sleep“is not only one of the most emotionally intense episodes of Health of all time, it also added so many layers to Sam that helped turn him into one of the best, most nuanced characters in sitcom history. Although the gripping story of Sam's struggle with alcoholism is the main attraction of “Endless sleep,” is hardly the only thing the episode gets right. From the verbal abuse Carla hurls at Rick to Diane's facial twitching, which she was sure she had cured through meditation, “Endless sleep“has endless laughter.

“Thanksgiving Orphans”
Cheers Season 5 Episode 9
Health has made several holiday episodes over the years, but the best of them all was the Season 5 Thanksgiving special. In “Thanksgiving Orphans”, the whole bar ends up at Carla's house when they realize that none of them have plans for the holidays. What started as an emotional moment for the group of friends quickly turned into a wild food fight that even Diane took part in (while she was wearing her period pilgrim costume).. But in fact Health fashion, hostilities ended and everyone had a healthy end to the holiday.
Cheers is always funny, but there are few episodes as funny as “Thanksgiving Orphans.”
Health is always funny, but there are few episodes that are as fun like “Thanksgiving Orphans.” The relationships that brought everyone together at the bar were on full display, and it's probably the best demonstration of how strong their friendships were and how much chemistry they had with each other. Plus, watching Sam shove mashed potatoes in Frasier's hair is something you don't see every day, which makes “Thanksgiving Orphans“infinitely rewatchable.

“What is… Cliff Clavin?”
Cheers Season 8 Episode 14
All over HealthCliff Clavin was known for his absurd curiosities and exaggerated sense of his own intelligence. One of the best episodes of the series,”What is… Cliff Clavin?“gave Cliff a chance to prove his knowledge, and he failed spectacularly. With one of the best special appearances Health story – Alex Trebek appeared as himself – “What is… Cliff Clavin?“It's without a doubt the funniest Cliff-focused episode. Cliff's televised meltdown and the way he inevitably lost was so in character that it even made Woody and Norm's awkwardness hilarious to the audience.
A large part of “What is… Cliff Clavin?” is how well he used the special format of a Danger! episode. Even the categories Cliff had to respond from, which included “bar facts” and “celibacy“, topics in which Cliff was incredibly well versed, were hysterical. Trebek is normal Danger! mannerisms and gravitas also meshed so well with Cliff's over-the-top antics when he lost that they created a truly special contrast. “What is… Cliff Clavin?“is one of the most inventive episodes of Healthand proved that even after eight seasons, the show could still do something new.
2
“Coach's Daughter”
Cheers Season 1 Episode 5
How “Endless sleep“before that”,Coach's daughter” was an early indicator that Health It was much more than meets the eye. As the title suggests, “Coach's daughter” sees the coach's daughter Lisa (Allyce Beasley) visit the bar with her boorish fiancé. The coach reasonably couldn't understand why his daughter was engaged to such a man, and he had a devastating conversation where he learned about Lisa's self-esteem issues.. In a moment that certainly made her cry, the coach told his daughter how much she looked like his late wife and assured her that she was the most beautiful woman in the world.
In addition to the enormous emotional impact that “Coach's daughter“packs, the episode also has some hilarious moments. From the entire bar helping to disinfect everything the new janitor of a questionable science lab touched to Diane's attempts to draw caricatures of the bar's patrons, the entire episode was hilarious. It was also one of the rare times that Coach was taken seriously as a character, and Nicholas Colasanto more than made the most of his moment in the spotlight. “Coach's daughter“had all the ingredients for a great Health episode.

“One for the Road”
Cheers, Season 11, Episodes 26-28
Ending a series as beloved and enduring as Health on the rise is no easy task, and many smaller programs have fumbled the finish line. Healthhowever, it somehow managed to save its best for last and delivered an ending for the history books. The three-part episode”One for the road“was considered one of the best endings in TV history for good reason. It's a farewell that leaves the door open for the gang to reunite one day on Cheers, and it's filled with bittersweet laughter and the same cozy atmosphere that the show has always had.
The most impressive part of “One for the road“, however, is how well he understands what Health intended for its viewers. After 11 years, Health came to fulfill its introduction and felt like a place”where everyone knows your name“His cast felt like old friends, and saying goodbye to them was like a punch in the gut.”One for the road“I knew I had to convey how emotional this farewell was, and it was executed perfectly. It had the perfect amount of sentimentality to commemorate such an important show, and it's easily the best episode of Health already done.
