Astral Swan Mission Guide (Flying Above the Starry Sky)

The “Flying above the starry sky” side mission in Infinite Nikki It looks easy but a little bit at the end makes it difficult to complete it successfully. You can only complete this quest after you finish”Attention! Spotted Faefish sprite“This is the fourth main story mission in the Abandoned District section of the game and the last in Chapter Four.

At this point, you will be familiar with repairing the various Skypasses and flowers in the Abandoned District, and the”Flying above the starry sky“The mission is just a quick flight away. In fact, you can start the mission in two different places, but talking to Elron in Stoneville gives you the big picture.

How to complete the climb above the starry sky

Start by talking to Elron and then Pinny in the abandoned district

Oddly, you can start this quest by talking to Elron in Stoneville or Pinny in the Abandoned District, but either way, you must return to Stoneville to begin. He will mention that he wants to take a package to Piecey, Pinny, in the Abandoned District and ask for Nikki's help in delivering it. You can use the newly unlocked Mirth Market Skypass or the Stellar Fishing Ground Warp Spire to reach Pinny.

You can find her next to the Warp Spire, and she will send you to Lenise, another Piecey who wants to see an Astral Swan fly as her dying wish. Lenise is west of Pinny's location, and you will need go to the bottom of the Stonetree and you will find it in the ruins of an old house. Pinny will tell Nikki that the best way to help Lenise achieve her wish is to first prepare the Astral Swan and then fly with it. To find the Astral Swan, return to the Stellar Fishing Ground Warp Spire.

The Astral Swan will appear easily when you warp. From the Star Fishing Spot, head southwest toward Crescent Pond. You'll see the Swan fly overhead and land in a nearby field in a cutscene. You can walk there using your Animal Grooming outfit, prepare it and get an Astral Feather crafting material.

After preparing the Swan for the day, you can walk to the cliff's edge and trigger a special event. This is where things get tricky, as messing up here means you'll need to restart the entire special event sequence all over again. After walking to the Swan you will need Switch to your Floral Gliding Outfit while you're still on the ground.

Typically, you can only wear this outfit on Skypasses or after being thrown into the air by an updraft, so it's not obvious that this is what you should do. There's also no button (or rather, there wasn't one for me) to tell you what to do. Press the Ability Outfit button, which is the right mouse button on PC, while you are still on the ground next to the Astral Swan to begin the sliding sequence.

As you swipe, dialogue triggers will happen; If you miss one by flying out of bounds, the sequence will be confusing and you will need to start over. Pay attention as you fly and press the button to “shoot” when you see it on the screen to continue the sequence as intended. Try not”drive” while you fly, as this can take you far beyond the limits of the conversation and also disrupt the sequence.

Once the flight is successfully completed, return to Pinny on the Stellar Fishing Ground Trail. Unfortunately, she will tell you that Lensie has passed away and ask you to return to Stoneville to warn Elron. Go to Dye Workshop Stonetree Warp Spire to find it again.
